Camping Ruisseau du Treil is situated in a charming little valley on the banks of the Treil. You camp here in the middle of the countryside, close to the river Lot. The campsite looks like an English park, with well-kept flower beds and lawns. It is the influence of the warm-hearted British owners. Relax in one of the swimming pools or admire the starry sky. For a day out, drive to Cajarc and Figeac.

A touch of England

The friendly owners have brought a touch of England to the south of France. The natural campsite looks like a spacious English garden. Beautifully tended lawns lie between the tall trees. Flower beds add to the brightness of the place. Everything is well-taken care of. But nature is also given the freedom to bloom abundantly. In the midst of all this nature, you can camp on spacious pitches. Or in one of the modern lodge tents.

Fine spot for a swim

Two swimming pools are situated in a clearing surrounded by trees. They provide an intimate spot for a cool dip. Here you can swim and splash with your children in peace and quiet. After a swim, dry off on a sun lounger.

Two billion star campsite

Camping Ruisseau du Treil is situated far from the hustle and bustle and the urbanised world. In the evening it is very quiet and it is completely dark. Get out of your tent or caravan and look up. Without all those city lights, the starry sky is impressive. Millions of stars can be seen in the sky, shining above the French mountains. Owner Nigel calls his campsite the 'two billion stars campsite'.

Travelling party: Couple

We had intended to stay for 3 to 4 days but ended up residing for 2 weeks. We arrived end of May and up until we departed there were very few campers so very peaceful. The pithches are spacious especially those near the main building (45-48). The site is ideally located to explore a very pretty part of the Lot region with many towns/ villages highlighted in previous reviews. There is probably one of the best Sunday markets in the nearby town Limogne-en-Quecy, so don’t miss it. If you want a really relaxing period then this site is recommended between end May till third week of June, so we will no doubt revisit. The owners, Jenny and Nigel are very friendly, helpful and a good source of local knowledge. Carjac, which is 8k down the road is a lovely town and a walk down the river front there is a must. A small but adequate InterMarche is also located in this town which also has a weekly market.

Liked - We enjoyed our visit, Cheryl and Steve are lovely, welcoming hosts and had only just taken over the site when we arrived. They are making improvements to the site, although as it stands, we would definitely return. The swimming pools are a plus and the beautiful scenery is calming and peaceful. Our toddler son was most welcome as are children of all ages and pets too!

Liked - Very friendly welcome from new owners Steve and Cheryl. Peaceful site in country setting. Great location to visit local historic villages. Every success with their new venture
Disliked - Lighting system within toilet and shower rooms need updating rapidly. Decor dated but functional. Would be better for more water points around site especially for contained motorhome and caravans that have everything on board ie showers etc

Travelling party: Couple

We had a relaxing week on this beautiful campsite a couple of minutes walk from the river Lot where you can wild swim, although the campsite has 2 lovely swimming pools. The new owners Cheryl and Steve were very welcoming and friendly. The pitches are large and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Lots of cycling and walking in the area, the butterflies are amazing and there are so many different varieties along with the wild flowers

Liked - The size of the pitch, the pool, the river nearby, the little village at walking distance and the larger region. And the home-made pizza's. We found Jenny and Nigel very friendly. All in all we had an amazing stay and for sure will return in the future.

Liked - We stayed at the site for the first time this year with our caravan , Jenny and Nigel gave us a warm welcome. The pitches are very generous and water wasn’t far away although we didn’t use the pool it looked very welcoming and the bar on site gave us a lovely opportunity to have a drink and a chat with others at the campsite . Because of Covid the site was quiet, it is in a good spot to explore the area of the Lot valley and we found both Jenny and Nigel very helpful in providing info on towns to visit and amenities in the surrounding area. We had a very pleasant stay and would def return.
