Pascal and Flo were brilliant. Unfortunately I was ill while I was there but they not only arranged a doctor's appointment but insisted on driving me there and to the pharmacy, refusing to accept any recompense. They had a great relationship with all guests and clearly enjoy what they do. We shall return in order to enjoy their lovely site to the full.
This has been our third year camping at this site. Our pitch has been spacious accommodating our rather large tent with ease. The toilet and shower facilities are second to none and are among the cleanest that we have come across anywhere - Florence and team can be seen cleaning them at least 3 times a day. This is a quiet, family site, without the arranged entertainments of the larger sites in this area. The hosts, Florence, Pascal and their three gorgeous sons are warm, welcoming, attentive, and reassuringly French and have become so much more than just camp site owners! There is a program of low key activities through out the week: wine tasting, visiting bands and culminates in the weekly petanque competition which is fiercely contested between local people, visiting French and the many other nationalities that stay at the site. I absolutely love the friendly atmosphere of the site - many guest have visited for many years and there is a real sense of community among the guests. There are a rang of supermarkets close by: Hyoer U in Aizenay and both Intermarche and Le CLerc in la Poire Sur Vie. There is a beautiful Chateau on the doorstep at Apremont, a lake to swim in and walk around and the amazing Quail Festival and Festival du Lac in August - an opportunity to join the local community in celebrating in a traditional French manner. There is plenty to see and do in the local area, would thoroughly recommend Les Sable D'Olonne, St Giles Croix de Vie, the market at Challans, Grand Defi (especially if you have adventurous teens), Indian Forest and the beautiful Island of Normoutier. A perfect piece of unspoilt French beauty and hospitality. Will return again and again.
