This was our last stop on a 4 day break from England, arriving Saturday afternoon and leaving early evening on Sunday. It is a huge site, taking into account all the holiday homes, and well run and clean with a good holiday feel, but not overcrowded considering it was the weekend. The toilet/shower blocks were accessible, clean and well maintained. We had a pleasant stroll around on Saturday evening and felt safe there even quite late. The boys had fun (though should mention my elder grandson had a problem connecting on the wifi at the pool) and we all enjoyed boating on the lake and the swimming pool. The food at the restaurant by the pool was good and we were able to relax there before heading home. We liked it there, will reccomend it to others and would like to return there given the opportunity.
Excellent camp site for kids. If you are adults who aren't into other people's kids or being close to loads of English people whilst abroad, I wouldn''t recommend this place to you. We are usually CL type site people, which we had found before arriving here & this was the final treat for the kids (aged 11 & 13). They loved it, but also were disappointed with the lack of French / continental campers - the 13 year old remarking she may as well have been in the UK!! Pitching was hugely cramped until the school deadline approached & the place started to empty. Fishing in the on site lake a bonus (10 euros a day). Entertainment noisy & we didn't use it so can't comment. Loads of stuff for kids to do on site. Lots of games etc (at extra cost) & also lots of key camp type statics on site. Surrounding area beautiful - Pierrefonds a must & lovely clearly marked cycle & walking routs through Compiegne forest. Museum of Carriage of Armistace very interesting.
Poor site for touring caravans and motorhomes. Reception area chaotic when busy, no indication as to where to park to check-in and parking space very limited. No provision at all for the disposal of waste water. Facilities extremely stretched during busy periods. Staff drive around on golf buggies at an excessive dangerous speed considering there are so many children around. Pleasant town within easy walking distance with good supermarket and open air market. A few large pitches available for groups of up to 4 outfits.
Stopped off on the way down through France, this will be our third visit. This time got placed for the night in the bottom area where previously a static had been. Pitch was good. Walked into the nearby village on a Saturday night - no one around. Please do support the local bars. Didn\'t eat on site as menu was poor and over priced.
I must say this is a fantastic site - IT IS MASSIVE everything from fly fishing to Archery to table tennis is available - an indoor heated pool with water slides and an outdoor one too with fountains. The campsite has its own luxury bus for reasonably priced trips to Disney and to Paris. The site has a takeaway a pub and a restaurant all reasonably priced. It has shops too, a supermarket, a bakery, and a holiday bits n pieces / souvenir shop. The site has pitches for caming cars, caravans and tents. However there are a very large amount of mobile home portkabins and swiss holiday lodges over 400 I would say at a guess. I was shocked by the size of the campsite. We got a space without prebooking in April and were given a tiny spot between a mobile home and a swiss style lodge. Due to the lodges having their own facilities the showering facilities for others are a bit fierce and chilly but that is being highly critical. A brilliant place where you can definitely relax!!! excellent
A convenient site for Disneyland Paris with excellent swimming pools, restaurants and sports facilities
Unfortunate that our short visit coincided with heavy rain, but my verdict would have been the same even in good weather. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the site is not suitable as a night halt. It is more difficult to get to than I expected; we were pitched on an open, unmarked area with limited hookup facilities; waste and chemical points were some distance, and unmarked; toilets had no paper and the showers were cold. And this is a five star site at the highest ACSI price? TO be avoided as a night halt.
Visited on 13 February 2017 and found that the only placed to stay overnight in our motorhome was on hardstanding next to reception. Very expensive for no catering facilities, no WiFi, poor quality cold showers/toilet, electricity on long lead to grass campsite point, NO chemical toilet disposal. This level of facility should not be charged at the summer rate when no doubt the site is fully operational. Alternatively, the site should stay closed in the winter and admit that they cannot provide the range of services. Disappointing and will not stay here again in the winter.
Although the campsite covered a large area, the pitches were well organised and the facilities were usually pretty close by. It was an advantage to use a bike to get around into the surrounding countryside.
This is a very large ‘holiday village’, not the normal ACSI site. It has plenty of activities, swimming pools, shops etc. It has pre- erected tents, wooden chalets, and mobile homes which seem to cater mainly for the Brits. Touring caravans/tents seem to be a side line.
The electric is only 6amp not 16 as stated in the book and we had to share at one point which gave us 3amps.
Our pitch alongside the river was water logged due to the heavy rain fall and dangerous underfoot.
The toilet facilities we used for our 1 night stay were clean.
Wifi was available at a charge in a restricted area.
If you are looking for peace and tranquillity this is not the site for you!!
