Travelling party: Couple

We arrived at Le Brochet as our first campsite in our European road trip. The pitch was our choice and we had a quiet location on not such a big campsite. The staff were very helpful, clothes for wash and dry, there was a little lake there too which you can fish in.
The toilet block isn't great, the showers themselves aren't nice to use, but that's the only negative I have with this place.
The local area is very good. The town of Peronné is lovely, good bars and restaurants. There is a museum there too (our reason to visit this area) and it is within easy distance driving of all the monuments and museums to the battle of the Somme. Well worth doing there.
We also made good friends in Peronné, a very friendly place.

Travelling party: Couple

We came to Camping Etaing Du Brochet to visit Péronne and we have not been disappointed, it is very well located for exploring the town (of which more later). The campsite is a municipal site under new management. The manager, Nicolas, is very helpful and friendly (also speaks English) and knows much about the town's history.
The pitches are spacious, some separated by small hedges and a few have good shade. There are about 6 with hard standing for campervans. There are plenty of modern electric hookup points.
The toilet block has 2 showers (no extra charge), sinks with hot water and toilets with seats. No paper or soap is provided. The toilet block is clean and tidy, but old fashioned.
The drinking water taps are at the toilet block where there is also a chemical disposal point.
Outside the gates of the site is a motorhome service point.
Turn right out of the gate and it is about 800 metres walk to the museum of the Battle of The Somme (the Tourist Information Centre is opposite the museum, with information and maps of marked walking routes around Péronne).
It is half that distance to the town centre with bakeries, cafés and restaurants. Also within easy walking distance is an old family brewery, with reasonably priced beers for sale.
We were pleased to find, also within close walking distance, a veterinaire, with English spoken and able to treat our dog for the Pet Passport.
A simple, pleasant site, perfectly placed to explore this town of interesting recent and older history.
