In Loix, the smallest village on the Ile de Ré, island on the west coast of France, you'll find Flower Camping Les Ilates. This lively campsite is located between salt marshes and oyster beds, close to the Atlantic Ocean. Here, campers can take a dip in the large heated swimming pool with paddling pool, where water polo matches are held in high season. The summer months are full of fun anyway, as the entertainment programme is extensive.

Liked - I love this small campsite with it's fantastic location on quiet part of the island. It's our third time starting there.
Disliked - Maybe a booking system for the tennis court would be useful.

This was our third visit in our caravan, 2 weeks in May 2018, 2 weeks in September 2018 and the whole month of September 2019. As usual everything was great - staff, sanitary blocks, pitch. One big problem though. We stayed till the site closed for the year on 29th not knowing there would be a party on the final night. Our pitch was quite near the restaurant and we were woken at 1.30am to the strains of “Ra Ra Rasputin” at full blast and the noise continued until 5am non-stop with us getting no sleep. We had to be up by 7am as we had a long drive home the next day. The office wasn’t open at 9am and staff turned up at 9.40. We have no problem with the staff celebrating the end of season, they work hard, but it would have been considerate to inform the clients (mostly older people) that this party would be going on. If we had known we would certainly have left the day before. It won’t stop us visiting as we love the area and site, but we will definitely not be there for the end of season party.

Ideal spot for a relaxing holiday. Great staff and facilities. Pitches are a decent size. A few minutes walk to the sea. Not far to drive or cycle to lovely restaurant. The best of all worlds.

Liked - Pool and slides, location
Disliked - Pitch was small and muddy and on the side of a busy section of road. Lots of flies on the site too, which made meal times less enjoyable.

Liked - Loved the new toboggans. The location is perfect with easy access to the cycle routes. Campsite feels very safe for children.
Disliked - Slight issue with noise at night, the 11pm curfew isn't always adhered to by other campers. The restaurant smelled of chip fat and wasn't very inviting.
