We stop here most years on our way to and from Spain, a little on the dear side I feel and the welcome you get will depend who is on the reception desk……the big guy is always friendly.
Unfortunately, you can not leave very early in the morning as the gate is locked until quite late.
This campsite has lovely facilities but the staff are unhelpful and unfriendly. Our son (9 yrs) was thrown out of the pool because we didn't realise he had the wrong shorts (this was handled very badly and was quite upsetting, another reviewer mentions below that children aren't treated this way - not so I'm afraid!). The list of rules was so long (a full A4 sheet in tiny writing). We've stayed a loads of places in France and they've all been really relaxed and lovely - this place is the opposite and it was also the most expensive!
Uptight unfriendly staff had our 9 year old in tears over the no swim shorts in the pool rule (we didn't realise the rule- hard to spot in A4 sheet of rules!). After I left a review saying so the site manager stomped up to our caravan and began shouting at us while we sat eating our dinner with the children. because we wouldn't remove our review (which was a fair reflection of what had happened) she then threw us off the site without a refund - bandits - never been treated so terribly! don't stay here!
The covered swimming pool is advertised as open all year, but is only open 1/4 - 1/11. Large commercial centre about 5 km from site.
The perfect mid France stopover when traveling to/from Spain in the winter. Sure it's great in the summer too but for a younger clientel. The couple that run the site are lovely friendly people, they keep the site in very nice condition. Pitches are large and grassy with hook up water and drain. In winter if the pitches are wet and you are just staying overnight they will pitch you on the solid road beside a pitch to make life easier for all. Winter toilet facilities are unisex, spotless, lovely and warm with good showers etc so life could could not be more easy. Highly recommended.
After 8 different sites across France we were excited about visiting Futuroscope ahead of returning to the UK. However the site proved to be the least friendly/accomodating that we experienced on our tour.
Arriving late it was annoying to discover that the availability of bread was limited to those that had pre-ordered. Surely it's not that difficult to anticipate a few additional baguettes? Fortunately the local boulangerie was just a 5 minute cycle away and provided ecellent bread at a fraction of the price!
The shower/toilet blocks were OK but in the gents most of the shower fittings were broken.
Being thrown out of the swimming pool for wearing speedo swimming shorts was the ultimate insult. It appears that if you're an adult then you'll be victimised but if you're a child it''s fine! All I would question is who is the most likely to pee in the pool.
The restaurant was OK with a very friendly and attentive waitress but sadly the menu was extremely limited.
We would return to just about any of the other sites, all of which were 4 or 5 star but La Futuriste won't get a repeat visit.
The camping is very near Futuroscoop, that is great but the owners are not friendly and not helpful.
The campingsite is closed at 23u30. So if you go out or want to see fireworks in surrounding villages you never make it back in time. You have to park your car or bike outside the campingplace and roll under the fence.
The swimmingpool is open at times when you are out. It's only open from 10 to 11u30 and 14u - 18u. That's it.
There is no toiletpaper in the toilets and showers close at 23u30. We've been on camings of only 2 or 3 stars with more comfort than this one.
Disappointing! The swimming pool was closed and empty. Its NOT open all year. The water supply to the pitches was switched off. Showers locked at night. Wifi only in reception and not cheap at two euros an hour. No soap, no loo paper and no hand drying facilities in the showers which is unhygienic. The pitches were of a good size and surrounded by hedges. The site was neat and tidy. However, off season, it was mighty expensive for what they offered which was minimal. Plenty of sites offer more for less.
