Camping Le Petit Trianon de Saint Ustre is a castle camping site in Poitou. In this region you can enjoy the Roman art of the centuries old churches and the avant-garde techniques in Futuroscope. Castles and country houses are in abundance and one of them is Le Petit Trianon. At the foot of the castle towers you'll experience a holiday characterized by comfort, peace and space.
Once you arrive on the camping site and behind the entrance, you'll see a well maintained property with high trees and an open field in front of the seventeenth century castle. In the reception, housed in the castle, you'll receive a princely welcome from the owners. Their camping site is very spacious and makes a quiet and peaceful impression. The pitches are relatively large, so you have enough space for all of your gear.
Camping in the trees
Except for the usual mobile homes and a number of cottages, you can hire a unique tree house (for two people) on the camping site Le Petit Trianon de Saint Ustre. You climb up some stairs to an attractive wooden hut. A real "nest under the stars". You hire the hut with hotel service: bed service and breakfast!
For the little ones
There is a lovely swimming pool (with small slide) on the camping site. Children can play in the playground, jump in the bouncy castle or play on the mini golf course. In the high season there is an entertainment team for the little campers.
The camping site does not have a restaurant, but for lunch or dinner you can go next door to the Auberge de la Ferme. They serve lovely local dishes.

The place itself is beautiful, in a nice rural area with good infrastructure.

The Auberge across the street is worth a visit.

Disliked - Grass needed cutting. Sanitary block needed updating.
Only stayed 1 night, but if we visit again it will be for longer. Owner, pitch and facilities are excellent, just beware of the gateway a little narrow.
Absolute gem of a site. Stayed 4 nights just before site closed for winter - very large pitches, excellent toilet facilites, warm welcome from helpful owners, peaceful/tranquil. Lots of very interesting places to visit including Tours and Richelieu. Good supermarkets handy.
One of our 'must return' sites.
Liked - Good for the Loire Valley. Our second visit, and will probably stay again. Would recommend to others. There was an owl in the tree above us and there are lots of bats in the area.
Disliked - No
Liked - Peaceful
Liked - Lovely quiet site with plenty of space, well kept washing facilities and a nice albeit small pool.
Disliked - Service at reception was sometimes slow - it was sometimes hard to get a drink. Also the on site food is limited to pizzas although there is a nice auberge on the edge of the site.
