We have just returned from our annual trip to Le Rossignol - staying for two and a half months. Once again we were welcomed like old friends and again met up with several people who, like ourselves, return year after year to this lovely place. \'Our\' pitch was ready when we arrived and in no time we were happily settled in. We renewed our bus passes in town (admiring the new Pole d\'Echange) and began once again to explore the surrounding area. There is always something we seem to have missed on previous visits and this year was no exception. We also bought a ZOU card from the railway station and this entitled us to half price train travel - a huge saving, allowing us to go even further afield. The whole experience is always a pleasure and it is a delight to come back every year to this friendly, welcoming campsite with the lovely family owners. Thank you - à l\'annee prochaine.
Unfriendly, rude staff. No information about campsite facilities provided. Despite speaking good French, we were literally grunted at.
We once again stayed on this site from start of June to end of July - our 7th year and can\'t wait to return next year. I have read some of the unfavourable reviews, French and English and am very sad that some people are not more understanding. The family running this site are absolutely lovely people - the site has been going in excess of 40 yrs with the same family so they must be doing something right ! We have never had a problem with any aspect of our stay. The proprietor, his wife, sons and sister are always very welcoming and happy to accommodate any request with a smile and a joke. Roll on 2015, when we hope to extend our stay to three months !
On arrival we received no greeting from the reception, a man walked through twice from the back without acknowledging our presence . The elderly woman behind the desk I asked (in french) if they had an emplacement just muttered to me, which I took to be an affirmative as she started to fill in a form. She pointed to a notice which said they did not open until 9 am in the morning for payment when we left. She then got in a golf buggy indicated to follow her and took us to a pitch....end of story. No information of facilities or anything else. Quite the most rude and ignorant bunch of people we have yet to meet running a campsite.
This is our sixth visit to this site and we shall keep returning! We spent six weeks in June and July and were very sad to leave. This is a family run camp and we have come to know the family very well. They have always been extremely pleasant and I think the negative comments from other reviewers are probably due to a lack of communication skills - the family only speak French and if the visitors have not made any effort to learn French then the fault is as much theirs ! Every year we meet up with others who are returning for the umpteenth time - twenty five years, even forty years in one case ! There can't be much wrong with either the camp or the family ! We will keep coming back and hopefully extend our stay even longer.
This is a very tight site for larger outfits, we had difficulty getting put off the site because of this. There's very little room at the entrance and if the site is full there is no room to turn round. We witnessed several groups having to unhitch the caravan to turn it round to leave after being told the site was full! The owners could have been friendlier, we didn't get one smile from them during our weeks stay.
Arrived at entrance. Entrance blocked by large motorhome trying to exit. Eventually drove up to barrier. Asked if we could look around and told, 'Yes'. Three members of staff sat outside reception. No-one came to tell us that the site was full. Motorhome exiting with lovely Norwegian couple
informed my brother (who was attempting to bring his caravan into the entrance) that the site was full. Was difficult and dangerous for my brother who had to reverse his van out onto the main road - no
other option as we were blocking the entrance trying to leave. Our wives had to stop the traffic on the busy main road outside while my brother reversed out. Staff were unhelpful and rude - a fact confirmed by the Norwegian couple whom we met again at the next site. We think that the site did not want our large (7 metre) caravans. Would not recommend this site and were relieved to get away without damaging the cars and caravans.
Will never go there again.
We love acsi, and are travelling for a year and have found all the info etc helpful and true except when we arrived here. The owners/staff were the most rudest we have ever encountered - i.e. didn't acknowledge us when at reception, waited till we spoke (just stared at us) and we do speak French so the language barrier was not a problem. Gave us wrong directions when we asked for directions to beach, they were given with a nod of the head. Made us sit by the urinals for a power point for our computor - even when we asked if we could use a plug at reception area. The campsite is on a very very busy road with no pavement, felt like we took our life in our hands everytime we left for a walk. It certainly was not a natural quiet pleasant location!! And we were charged extra than the 16euros. When I questioned this I was grunted at and was told that was the price. We left very very upset and would not recommend this campsite even if you were desperate!!
I think this is probably the worst campsite I have ever been to in France. The pitches are very small and the roads very narrow for manouvering. The owner stood and watched as I struggled to manouver our 7 metre van onto the pitch and then tutted because the hitch was over the road even though the back of the van was hard against the hedge. He stood and watched whilst our friends tried to get onto their pitch, and if it had not been for other campers helping them they would not have got on. We stayed one night and then left.
Although this site is clean the owner cannot be bothered. Very difficult to get on pitch even with small caravan, bar never open, swimming pool sometimes. Not even a grunt when we paid.
