Camping Nostradamus, less than ten km away from the town of Salon-de-Provence, is located in an oasis of green along a water channel. The camping site is surrounded by quiet, agricultural areas. The elongated camping site tapers to a tip, but the pitches are exceptionally spacious and at the back there is an area specially allocated to tents. The camping site, because of its many ancient trees, creates a green and pleasant impression. These trees provide ample shade, no unnecessary luxury in the Provence during summer...
You will receive a warm and personal welcome in the modest reception. Near the reception is a terrace where drinks and snacks are served. You can also find tourist information here about the region. The camping site profiles itself as a 'slow camping site' where conviviality and peacefulness are the prime focus.
Accommodation with ambiance
At Camping Nostradamus you can rent one of the two mobile homes, one of which accommodates up to five persons and the other one a maximum of six persons. If you want to experience a real French atmosphere, you can rent the gîte La Balladine. The gîte is suitable for up to four persons.
Attractive swimming pool and pizzeria
In addition to a lovely terrace, the camping site also has a simple, but nicely designed swimming pool to cool down. Swimming in the canal is dangerous because of the fast-flowing water.
The camping site does not have a fully-fledged restaurant, but has a good pizzeria instead. However, in France you never have to search long for an eating establishment and in Salon-de-Provence you will find a wealth of great places to eat. There are also supermarkets and other shops.

Arrived here on 2 feb after visit to gendarme to report the robbery of our cash/passports and cards...very helpful at our time of distress..so we returned on our way home...One of the the sites we will always visit from now on..go try it >peacefull ideal for a break or holiday. salon is a busling place with an HSBC
Lovely site, friendly staff. Only problem was very short period on taps, so filling an Aquaroll was tedious. Otherwise, a lovely site.
We spent only one night at the site instead of the planned week, as it was very end of season and very tired and dirty.
Pitches were unfinished and had no boundaries.
We found the entrance very very tight and the whole site was noisy with rushing water, farm machinery and traffic.
Gilles the owner is a wonderful host and is to be commended for the way he makes guests welcome on his site. The setting of this site is lovely, rural, but bus link nearby to the town of Salon, where you can get trains to Marseille etc. Salon itself is a lovely town. Gilles and the staff seem to speak a variety of languages excellently! Pool, looked nice but didn't use. Good quality cheap food and drink from the bar/restaurant, with outside sitting area. Our pitch was in an overspill field which looked as if it was being upgraded. the pitch was flat, and grassy/dry - but had a highway of ants somewhere in the vacinity, mozzies too - so take your citronella etc. The showers etc were clean and modern, but looked to us as if the site needed more of them. For us a 9 out of 10 and Very Good. Loved this place, would loveto go back.
This is a wonderful site for those who want or like a rural, quiet place to spend a very pleasant few days. The sanitary facilities are adequate but dated. Plenty of hot water. The people who run the site are very, very welcoming. There was a lot of evidence of improvements going on but not to our detriment. If you want manicured grass pitches this isn’t the site for you but if you want piece and quiet with the ability to take walks in the country direct from the site then have a look here. The site is accessed over a 17th century canal for irrigation. We would use it again.
