In the east of France, just a little way from the Italian and Swiss borders, and between the towns of Chambéry and Lyon, you'll find the friendly Le Coin Tranquille campsite. The peaks of the Alps offer a stunning backdrop for campers. Here, in the heart of the Isère region, nature plays a leading role.
Flowerbeds with colourful flowers
Le Coin Tranquille campsite appears spacious, well cared for, and friendly. The flowerbeds with colourful flowers lend a little something to the atmosphere. The flat, bucolic grounds are landscaped with plenty of greenery. There is a panoramic view of the mountainous surroundings from several of the camping pitches. In the centre of the campsite, you'll find the reception, the restaurant - which has a terrace - and the swimming pool. The road through the campsite separates the terrace from the rectangular heated swimming pool. At busier times, the swimming pool is the liveliest place at the campsite. Small children can splatter around in the toddler pool. If you'd like to sunbathe after your swim, there are sunbeds to use.
Chef's theme evening
In the peak season, the chef organises theme evenings. Guests can sign up for a delicious barbecue, or a rich paella. On other days, there's an extensive menu with all sorts of local produce that's worth trying. The spacious restaurant is well-regarded due to its high quality, reasonable prices, and the atmospheric design with wooden ceilings.
Le Coin Tranquille campsite is one of the most child-friendly campsites, according to the organisation Kids Campings (Campsites for Kids). This is why many of the campers who stay here in the summer are families with young children, including many Dutch families.

This family owned campsite is superb, one if the best we've ever stayed at. All facilities are good, it's beautifully situated and very well maintained and the staff can't do enough for you. Excellent restaurant on site (even locals use it) with spacious bar. Great pool. Can't fault it apart from narrow access roads but they're easily navigable. Ideal place to explore the Vercor from.
A super camp site...very friendly and helpful staff, large pitches and immaculate facilities in a lovely part of France. The restaurant is very good and they have a "party" night once a week during the busy season which is a good fun if you enjoy mixing with the other campers. Very reasonably priced with the ACSI discount.
Wonderful site run by wonderful people!! We will definitely return.
This site is one of the best campsites we\'ve visited. From the moment we arrived until the morning of our departure we were made to feel very welcome. The Managers and staff were superb, nothing was too much trouble.
We stayed 21 nights and were quite apprehensive that the site would not live up to our (high) expectations. Well, it exceeded those expectations in grand style.
We had asked in advance for a quiet perimiter pitch with mountain views (foothills of the Alps) and upon arrival we were offered several such pitches to choose from.
We opted for pitch 135 which placed our large twin axle caravan under some decent size trees offering great shade for our awning. (we enjoyed 19 out of 21 days unbroken hot sunshine.
The onsite facilities were fabulous: the sanitary blocks were cleaned at least 3 times each day with the first being before dawn.! The on-site restaurant (and bar) served a good variety of well-priced food which was evident by the number of locals who ate there alongside the visiting campers.
The swimming pools were spotless, very well presented and a pleasure to use with an abundance of sun loungers available.
We travelled with Stanley, our Jack Russell dog and he was made to feel welcome around the site and in the restaurant.
The site is well located with a good road network and easy access to local lakes (spectacular in clour and cleanliness) villages and mountains. Mt Blanc and Geneva are an hours drive and we found a small vineyard that offered tasting sessions only 15 minutes away.
All manner of shops can be found locally in Les Abrets.
A variety of fresh breads were available to order on site.
Simply stunning, thanks for having us....!
Fantastic camp site excellent facilities very well kept and maintained. Martine and family are superb hosts, the food is delicious, the pool is perfect, their is no room for improvement. Very knowledgeable about the area.
We were so lucky to have chosen this campsite. As a result we had a wonderful week despite the bad weather for some of the time. Well worth a visit.
Lovely well kept site. Good facilities. Peaceful.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Family owned. Perfect place to chill out. As it was late in the season we didn’t have the use of the pizzeria etc. The shops stock was low as it was nearing the end of the season but we could get fresh bread. Great place for a few days rest. Well 5 actually.
Friendly staff and welcome. Pitches vary in size with both shaded and sunny locations. Plenty of water points. 10 amp power tends to trip easily. New swimming pools just completed. Weekly \\\'get together\\\' meals and entertainment good fun. Small shop for daily bread and basic requirements. Restaurant with a good selection. Wonderful Sundae desserts. Also take-away with good selection of pizza. Toilet blocks typical size for France. Site clean.
Overall a good site. Would recommend.
