The showers were hot, the floors of the toilets were not clean, i found toilet paper, and excrement under one of the toilets. My French is not up to scratch, so did not inform staff. The offending articles were still there when we left 5 days later. The facilities could have been a lot cleaner, they would have been good if cleaned. Very stretched even in low season.
Friendly welcome. Busy camp, popular because of the stunning location with chateau Gaillard above and the Seine alongside. It is also a transit stop. Hedges between pitches, but little shade. WIFI expensive, but free in local tourist office. Water standpipes thin on the ground, the first one that I found was a push button type and took a while to fill, but, searching elsewhere, there was a conventional tap with good pressure.
Good play facilities for children and active adults, including small pools.
Modern, well maintained unisex facilities. Loos had comfy seats, paper and a hair dryer.
The Seine velo route was not complete (ETA 2020) at the time of our visit, but there is a stretch of quiet road leading towards Louviers that is good for cycling.
We would use it again.
An excellent spacious site adjacent to the Seine and under the gaze of the amazing Chateau Gaillard ruins. Our parking space was large and the grass was firm despite the recent inclement weather. Did not try the on-site food but the restaurant, which had indoor and covered outdoor facilites, was busy during our stay. The modern shower and toilet block was clean as was the washing-up area. The staff were very friendly and helpful, their English being far superior to my French! Will definitely return.
We have stayed here before and returned because of the lovely large pitches and beautiful surroundings. The refurbished shower blocks are a major improvement.
Stayed here again on way south. We were directed to a pitch right by the river and as the weather was good we could sit and watch the boats. Can\'t comment on accommodation, child friendliness, etc. as it was low season., but very handy for the charming little town of Les Andeleys. This was our second visit and won\'t be the last.
Stayed for 5 nights, very friendly and helpful staff, close to town and castle, very good new shower block kept very clean at all times, would use again.
Just an overnight stop but seemed to have excellent facilities for families with swimming pool & play area. These were well enough away from main site so there was no problem with noise. Large well maintained pitches but I can believe there would be a problem with soft ground. Toilet / shower facilities good but no separate blocks for males & females - not good!
We stayed at the site for just one night on our way further South in our 6m motorhome. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful and spoke perfect English. Our on-line booking had been received so there were no problems with this. Our pitch was large and they are well spaced out. The site is large but when we were there, at the start of August, it was no too busy. The toilet block seemed quite new and was excellent.
Although we only used the site for an overnight stop we would be happy to stay there for longer.
Booked in for 3 nights 28-30th March 2015. Was given a large pitch to take my 7.5m Hymer with a Smartcar and trailer. Pitches are all grass and as the site has the river Seine on three sides, the ground will always be a little soft for motorhomes. My friends needed a tow when leaving as their motorhome could not cope with the soft ground.
The toilets and wash/shower facilities are very poor. No external door to the facilities so if it is cold outside, you are cold inside. Both my friends and I complained to the office about the lack of hot water in the showers. Action was promised to increase the heat (the shower temperature is pre-set) but nothing was done and I ended up using my motorhome shower and toilet as the wash room was freezing cold.
The sporting facilities seemed to consist of a strange gentleman wandering around the site dressed in camouflage clothing and carrying a large bow and quiver of arrows, and wearing a face mask presumable to disguise his identity. I would imaging that children would find this person frankly disturbing, let alone what parents would think!!
Best avoided for families.
Great site! Very clean and well run. This is the closest I\'ve ever come to being in Seine! Pitched right next to it. But if you have sprogs you might have to tie them up as there\'s nothing to stop them falling in. We were a bit worried about the cat, but she was fine! Will go again!
