In lovely position, literally on banks of Seine, wooded area along edge of site with beautiful bird sounds. On the down side road which runs along outside is very busy & quite noisy & especially early morning with work commuters. Very long grass on our pitch which was situated just next to small sanitation block with outside urinals; not ideal! There is another sanitation block further along. No hot water for washing pots, which isn\'t much use for greasy plates. The site is quite unkempt
We stayed at this site for one night on our way back to Calais. Whilst it has an enviable position overlooking the Seine the road outside is very noisy and we did not get much sleep. The toilet facilities were woefully inadequate having just one sit down toilet, two showers and one of those ridiculous stand up holes in the ground which I would not dream of using which also doubled as a chemical disposal point. The \"receptionist\" would have cracked her face if she smiled or even said \"bonjour\" and refused even a single word of English. As already stated I nearly clobbered my caravan trying to get into the site entrance due to the barrier post in the middle of the road. Will definitely not be staying there again!
On a busy noisy main road, no access to woods as stated. Not a nice safe walk to the town along the dirty working river.
The site is well located by the side of the Seine, however…… The road right outside gets busy and is very noisy. The facilities are clean but poorly laid out. Blocks are mixed such that a lady can easily walk in on a man at a urinal with no barrier. For a site which is charging €16 a night there is no toilet paper, no pool, no hot water at any of the sinks, and rather small pitches. The previous comment about the entrance is very true. We had trouble getting in with our (nearly 8m) tourer because the security barrier control is mounted on a pillar right in the middle of the road. The staff (particularly ‘Madam’) could use a customer care course. She staunchly refuses to speak a single word of English, no matter what. Although she is not overtly rude, she is quite curt and unsmiling. We won’t be returning.
A site that offers stunning views of the water traffic on the Seine. There is a main road just outside the site but we did not find it a problem. We had intended only to stay one night on our journey but decided to stay for two.
Extreme road noise from 6.30am. Staff offhand. Publicity and ACSI entry very misleading. Would not recommend
Having stayed on this site 30 and 20 years ago I noticed how much it has changed from being predominantly camping to predominantly chalets. That said it is in a beautiful location and both pitch and sanitary facilities were good although the timed light switch could do with being on for longer when taking a shower. My only gripe is that unfortunately I forgot to show my ACSI card when booking in. My pitch was only 30 yards from reception and I immediately realised when I got to the pitch that I had not shown the card. Straightway I returned to ask if they could give the discount, but was greeted by a very brusque \"non, pas du tout; trop tard\". A bit hard to swallow just 3 mins after booking in and especially when the receptionist bent the rules for another person who wished to pay by card for one night (normally cash only) at the same time I was asking for the ACSI discount. Just beware, and ask for the discount before anything else!!
This site is on the very noisy main road to Villequier which very much spoils its location on the Seine and also means you don't get a good night's sleep. Also the ACSI book states it is a suitable site for caravans over 5.5 meters and whilst that is true once you are on a pitch, getting into the site is difficult as there is a keep right barrier in the driveway and a barrier. The owners also charges a tourist tax on top of the stated rates.
We booked for 2 nights and stayed for 4. We enjoyed our stay and would use te site again. The location, on the banks of the Seine, is stunning. The road between the Seine and the site was noisy at peak times. The pitches are small and mostly sloping towards the river. The toilet facilities are modern, but might be less adequate at peak times.
