Very disappointed as we had looked forward to the site. We were not told the charging structure (my request to pay the previous night was declined) which resulted in a nasty shock in the morning for expensive electricity.
Were told the restaurant was open until late but not advised to book. There were a lot of empty tables at 6.45pm but we were informed no availability for a meal all evening. We had to get a taxi to another restaurant.
All in all a very expensive stay
The best site we have stayed at. Loads to do for all ages, mountain biking, walking, day trips to France, Switzerland. Indoor and outdoor pools are amazing. Good food/drinks on site and in the local area. Staufen is a must for wine lovers.
Superb site in lovely area. Receptionists(2) very different. Meeting either could result in a very different slant on staff. Facilities excellent, restaurant very good. Downsides were very expensive wi-fi and less than clear charging structure. Still great value for money but all in price would remove any surprise at the final bill.
We stayed overnight in the area just outside the camp grounds which was perfect for our mobile home, the site is split into two halves, toilet block for the men's on the right side were a bit dirty, however we did use the free service to board a train going to the nearest quaint town and had a lovely meal. A bit pricey for an overnight stay, but the site does have a lot to offer, judging by how packed it was this time of year.
Camping Munstertal is a well-organised site in beautiful surroundings. When you arrive the site staff take your caravan to the pitch, which is very welcome after a long journey. From then on the experience is 5*, with excellent facilities and restaurant and stunning views from the site itself. Loads to do in the area, we will definitely be returning to this site.
A fantastic site in every respect. We arrived for 2 days and stayed for 6. In March, the site was busy with retired German couples taking advantage of the special ‘trial’ rates (I think this site gets quite expensive in the medium-high seasons). Run by a friendly and efficient husband and wife team. On arrival, seeing that we had a large caravan and were not perhaps the most confident of campers, our van was towed to a pitch of our choice by the on-site tractor. What service! Indoor pool was excellent and the views of the majestic Black Forest mountains on all sides were spectacular. Well-stocked onsite shop. Free travel for campers on local trains (the tracks run right past the site and trains start early in the morning!) Divided into two sections – one half for families and one for older campers which worked well (we stayed in the ‘wrong’ side to be closer to the pool). The best campsite washrooms you will find, bar none. Thoroughly recommended.
Stayed here for 10 nights, a very good site with excellent facilities. Free travel card for bus and train supplied by site for use in Black Forest. Train station directly outside site. Would not hesitate to visit again.
