We really liked this site and will be back. Access is easy, although our SatNav let us drive past the entrance.
The staff are extremely friendly and check in is very simple. We were shown to our pitch which was huge. We had water and EHU. The site is nice and quiet.
Toilet & shower facilities are plentiful and clean, if perhaps a bit dated. You would find it easier to dump waste water at the service point if you have a side hose, rather than a centre dump.
The site has a small indoor swimming pool, but we did not use it. There is free access to the public pool about 200m away.
The site has a small shop which we used for a few basics, but for a wider choice we went to the village of Munstertal by train, courtesy of the free train and bus pass provided by the site. The site offers a small menu of food, including pizza, chips, salads etc. My one suggestion to the site is to expand their menu and increase the variety of provisions in the shop.
The site is right on the edge of the Black Forest and there are lots of lovely walks nearby.
This is a very pleasant stopping site on the Italy-Austria-Germany-France-UK route, but it is certainly worth spending more than a couple of nights here.
Arrived during half term without a reservation. Pitches VERY close to each other and our 7.5m van could only park one way. Lovely situation with free public transport pass provided.
Indoor pool on site, public pool (free with pass from campsite) just across the river in easy walking distance. Beautiful town to visit.
The staff have always been friendly & helpful & there is free access to a fantastic outdoor swimming pool complex next to the site, there is also a small indoor pool on site. Staufen is a nice town a short walk away. The only down side is the railway track next to the site, railway traffic starts about 0600 until 2200 so take some earplugs if you go but you can get a free local rail travel pass from the reception. I really like this site & will be visiting again with my family.
This is a beautiful site, however the guys that work here seem to be very strict on everything from where/how you pitch your set up, and on arrival don't give you any information about the site (i.e. where the waste disposal/water/washrooms etc are.
We felt like 'big brother' was watching us the few nights we stayed there. A bit of an odd atmosphere really. Won't go back.
