Not far from Hamburg, directly along the Elbe river, you will find Stover Strand Camping. Despite the proximity of this city of millions, the campsite is situated in an amazingly green and rural area. The pitches are free to select and not demarcated. Nevertheless, there are many trees which provide shade. Stover Strand Camping is open between Easter and October. However, behind the dyke are pitches that are available throughout the year.

Two sites

The reception is housed in a fairly new building which is very well maintained. The staff makes one feel at home straight away. The site along the Elbe offers the most beautiful pitches with direct access to the beach. On the main grounds of the campsite you will find additional well-maintained rental accommodation (tents, mobile homes, rooms and bungalows).

Ideal base with all conveniences

The camping forms an ideal base for visitors wishing to explore the area (Hamburg, Lüneburg) or who like cycling. Many water sports enthusiasts visit here for boating activities on the river Elbe. There is a private shuttle service to Hamburg (on weekends from May-October) and a free bicycle bus in the summer months.

You do not have to leave the grounds for groceries; there is a large EDEKA supermarket with groceries as well as camping and angling supplies. There is also an excellent restaurant with regional dishes and a cosy cafe for coffee, bread and pastries.

Entertainment for children is offered on the campsite.

Sanitary facilities

The sanitary provisions are neat, centrally situated and more than adequate, certainly for campers on the main camping grounds. For campers along the Elbe the sanitary provisions are somewhat less.

Platz schön gelegen.
Dusche kalt und warmes Wasser auch nicht da (Damen) Fön auch defekt.
Keine Duschmöglichkeit am Wohnmobilstellplatz.

netter Platz mit schöner Umgebung, Schiffsrestaurant sehr ansprechen und lecker, Platz ruhig nicht übervoll. Sehr guter Startpunkt für Ausflüge in nähere Kleinstädte oder auch Hamburg mit dem Rad.

Die Berwertung bezieht sich auf den Elbseitigen Teil des Platzes. Positiv ist die größe der Stellplätze und die Lage zu Elbe zu bewerten, dazu noch das Gastroangebot mit der Unsinkbar. Negativ ist einmal die Zufahrt, es gibt kaum Platz wo anreisende Parken können, wenn man Elbseitig steht muss man über den Platz fahren um zu wenden. Ziehmlich Chaotisch. Elbseitig gibt es nur 4 Duschen für geschätzt 100 Stellplätze, das ist etwas wenig. Den Grauwassertank kann man Elbseitig auch nicht entleeren, im ungünstigsten Fall läuft man 1km vom Stellplatz bis zur Entsorgung. Sollte das Camperclean defekt sein oder man nicht das Geld ausgeben wollen muss man genauso weit laufen. Da gibt es verbesserungspotential.

Liked - Besonders gut gefällt uns der Stellplatz direkt an der Elbe. Die sanitären Anlagen sind schön und sauber und das Restaurant ist gut. Der Preis für den Stellplatz ist absolut in Ordnung.
Disliked - Die Strandperle war doch sehr teuer für das was sie bietet. Es roch wie „bei Omma“ und es war kalt. Der Heitlüfter reichte nicht wirklich und war fürchterlich laut. Die Gardinen müssten einfach mal gewaschen werden und eine Verdunkelungsmöglichkeit wäre auch gut. Hier gibt es Verbesserungsbedarf aus unserer Sicht.

Liked - Es war ein schöner Urlaub trotz der Matsch Wiese, aber so ist es halt wenn es tagelang geregnet hat.
Disliked - Mehr Duschräume.

Liked - Wir haben über die Acsi-App gebucht, es hat alles einwandfrei geklappt. Von der Buchung, über die Anmeldung und das auschecken sowie der Bezahlung.
Die Sanitäranlagen waren sehr sauber und gut beheizt. Das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Da wir außerhalb der Saison auf dem Platz waren, war es auch sehr ruhig und es war kaum Betrieb.
Disliked - Bitte weiterhin Desinfektionsmittel auf den Toiletten bereit stellen.

Liked - Die hilfsbereiten und freundlichen Mitarbeiter waren wohltuend. Saubere Anlage, toller Service. Wir kommen gerne wieder und empfehlen den Campingplatz.
Disliked - Das Müllmanagement. Schlüssel holen, um den Müllbeutel loszuwerden, ist nervig.
