Drewoldke is a well organised camping site on the coast of the island of Rugen. On the elongated camping site the most beautiful pitches, which also have the most shade, are for tent campers. Many families camp here. You can make interesting day trips from the camping site and enjoy walking and cycling through nature. You can swim in the sea nearby and sunbathe on the beach.
The camping site is located near a sand-gravel beach on the Baltic Sea, in the elongated island of Rugen. The island is characterised by the variegated coastline with chalk cliffs, sandy beaches and unique forests. There are well-constructed cycle roads and tracks in this flat landscape. Some 2 km away from the camping site you will find Altenkirchen, interesting both from a historical and practical (shopping options) point of view.
Sheltered camping between the dunes
On the elongated camping site you will find the fields for caravans on the one side and a (pine) forest strip for tent campers on the other side. The fields for tent campers have a natural demarcation and lots of shade. The pitches are beautifully located in small dune hollows. A little higher up is the site with rental caravans and chalets.
Beach within walking distance
Several pathways lead from the camping site to the adjacent sand-pebble beach. You can reach the beach within a few minutes.
Small but perfect
Camping Drewoldke has a small, but well-stocked camping site shop. The restaurant has a small menu and there is a snack bar. The sanitary facilities are housed in two large, new buildings: one for the terrain on the left and one for the terrain on the right. There are excellent facilities for disabled persons.

Large overcrowded campsite. There is no restaurant or possibility to sit under the roof and take a dinner. Lot of people, lot of noise and no privacy. Sea is just behind the corner. There are bycicle and tourist routes nearby.
A good site behind the dunes, long and thin, tents are on terraces closer to the sea, vans/caravans on the road side, so all fairly close together. The site is a bit run down in places, still getting rid of the old DDR infrastructure, so you have to ask at reception to get the electricity plugged in and unplugged as you leave. Showers are on a card system which you preload with cash at reception. Kap Arkona is cycling distance away, beach is 50m away, a good site to while away a few days
