Campsite Dresden-Mockritz
General information
Camping Dresden-Mockritz lies in a Dresden suburb. Although the camping site is located in town, it looks very green and has a large number of big, old trees. The terrain makes a spacious impression. In peak season it is often very busy on the camping site. Especially in late afternoon lots of new campers use this as an overnight stop on their way to, for instance, the Czech Repulic.

Good access to Dresden by bus or cycle (Down hill in climb out) approx 6 kilometers. Reception was excellent if it is not open you can find a pitch and book in when it opens. Freshly baked bread each morning which was excellent value, small shop for essentials. Large municipal free form swimming pool very close by.

Visited site mid October. Swimming pool closed. Good location for using local bus into Dresden. Could purchase ticket at reception. Also small grocery store & fresh bread daily. Reception staff spoke English & helpful. WiFi included in price (ACSI discount) Toilet, shower facilities clean, warm tokens given for using warm water, included. Ate in restaurant, reasonable price for meal & drinks & meal freshly cooked? All in all a good city site. Ground a bit muddy & high edging stones to get into pitch.

A good urban site. Wifi free but frustrating. Low amps on power hookups. Excellent public transport.

A very good base for visiting Dresden and the surrounding areas. A medium sized, busy site with good facilities. Many pitches are sloping but they are of reasonable size. The swimming pool is small but big enough for morning's exercise and there are Sun beds. Reception has very helpful staff. A small shopping and produces a good range of rolls, etc. They sell public transport tickets. Dresden has an excellent integrated public transport system and a few minutes study will help you get maximum benefit from it. Buses stop outside the gate and run all night.

Very busy site ( mid May) Easy to find from motorway, although final direction should have been a right turn not a left! Good level pitches. WiFi did not work. Excellent clean and modern toilets and showers. Bus service to Dresden from stop outside campsite. Tickets could be bought from campsite shop.

Place was quiet with nice camping pitches.
Internet is not for free and it is not good enough for skype calls. Showers are good and you need coins from reception to use them.
It is good place to stay if you want to visit Dresden.

Friendly staff made us really welcome on arrival.
Found it difficult to find an electrical hook up from our initial site, or the second but with a little look around found another site with access to a hook up pretty easily. best to look around before parking.
Some of the sites slope a little. the one we eventually found (with the hookup) sloped more than our ramps cpuld handle. We were tired after a long drive and looking for a suitable spot that we accepted our lot as we were only there for one night.
Toilets and showers (token operated showers - issued free on arrival) were clean.
Washing up facilities had a box - 20c for warm water. The water was warm at all basins without having to pay.
Otherwise pleasant site. If we weren't passing through it would have been nice to stay for a few days.

Very friendly family run site. Staff always helpful. Bus stops right outside the site for easy ride into Dresden. Reception has details and can sell tickets.
Pitches generally sloping so camper vans may need levelers.
Showers and washing up hot water extra, as is increasingly common - though hot water supply for washing up seemed to be freely available at the time of our visit.
In suburban environment but little traffic noise at night
