We really liked this site set out in the countryside by a large lake. The lady owner is extremely nice, welcoming and friendly. The pitches are of a generous size herringboned, tarmac with grass separators and slightly sloping. The showers are coin operated, the toilets have soap, paper and had drier. A nice camper’s kitchen, games room and TV lounge. The whole place has a rather old-fashioned air, which I found really appealing. We were on our way home and if it had not been so hot we would have stayed longer.
The area is lovely farming country with quiet roads ideal for walking, the lake if beautiful surrounded by farms. The local town is nice but none of the bars open till evening (except Murray’s bar which opens Friday PM so that a 95-year-old local man can get refreshed on pension day! Lovely). See the Village Grill for lunch.
very nice people good price close to Roscommon. lovely lake coaches open. good walks for Labradors. highly recommend 10/10 .

Camping trip of Father and son (9 years old), Brilliant spot, central location, close to main towns, facilities have all you need and more than we expected, the staff - actually the family who own it were extremely friendly and helpful, beautiful area, right next to the lake and option to take out rowing boat or boat with an engine. - at first we thought it was out of the way etc, but you are still very close to all main towns etc, and the location was so cosy and quiet at night compared to the other industrialised sites nearby. stayed 3 nights instead of 2 and going back for a week in august, as a base for travelling to Tipp, Galway and sligo Rosscommon, Athlone. very reasonably priced too. stayed 3 nights/days in early July 2011.
