No supervision on camp site so noisy neighbours have a great time. No key security access into camp site or toilet blocks. Men's toilet block had 4 cubicles and one toilet seat - not good and a could have been cleaner. Has a four star rating on their own website - nearer 2 star in my opinion.
Dearer than higher rated and better sites. Won't be returning!
The site is near a lake for walks and fishing, but there is no nearby village. Mostly statics, with some touring pitches, both hard-standing and grass.
The cafe, with book-swap and local info, was open.
Adequate toilets and refurbished coin-op showers. Outdoor washing up sinks but no kitchen.
No internet or WiFi at all.
Overpriced for a basic campsite.
Good sized pitch with water & electricity fairly level and under trees. Good toilets, clean with paper & soap. Token for showers. Wi-Fi only in the café and reception, when open. Food in restaurant not too good, fish & chips from frozen (Birds Eye?) but good coffee and staff friendly and helpful, small shop attached. No other shops, pubs or restaurants near.
Super location right next to the lake in woodland. Unfortunately, it rained a lot when we were there but great for country walks & rides. Would stop here again if passing through or weather better.
Return visit this year. Weather much better this year, which makes everything better. Owners very friendly and helpful. Had nice coffee in café and the facilities were well stocked and clean. Easy access to Mullingar, where we had a nice lunch.
Good discount with ACSI.
