Camping Grandes Jorasses is located in the Val Ferret (North Italian Valle d’Aosta region), in the vicinity of the village of Entrèves. Here you find yourself in an Alpine paradise at the foot of the Grandes Jorasses, a mountain range with peaks of over 4000 m in the northern part of the Mont Blanc Massif. From the camping site, you have a lovely view of the Mont Blanc, the highest peak of the Alps.
Alpine camping site
The camping site which lies against a slope, mostly under spruce, has a lovely ambiance. Everything looks well-maintained and the camping site exudes an authentic alpine atmosphere with its reception in chalet style and its rustic wooden bungalows. The hilly terrain is somewhat difficult to negotiate and the pitches, although beautifully laid out, are not very spacious. The rental accommodation units have a cosy appearance.
Mountain hiking paradise
Valle d’Aosta, in the extreme north-west of Italy, is officially a dual-language region, where both Italian and French are spoken. You are only a stone's throw away from the French border and the Mont Blanc tunnel, which ends near well-known Chamonix. The surroundings of the camping site are characterised by high mountains and deeply incised valleys.
The camping site is modest in terms of facilities. The reception also serves as a restaurant, camping site shop and bar. The restaurant is amicable and the service is friendly and accessible. The owner's wife is an excellent cook and bakes fantastic pizzas, which go down well after a day in the mountain air.
The sanitary facilities are modest but are kept very clean.

A great place to enjoy your vacation! The camping is really quite and the staff is friendly
For us, this place turned out to be the most expensive campsite of the whole TMB route. They give you a card to start shower. Wireless devices inside the showers work in a strange way. According to my wife, one device was broken (had no casing). She didn\'t notice it at once as it was too dark in one cubicle. She tried to start it, but it didn\'t work. So she moved to another one. Each of us showered less than 4 minutes.
It\'s also very crowded. Most of the place is occupied with camper trucks. There is not much space for walkers.
Another minus of this campsite is that it has some kind of wood shop. It worked up to 9 PM. Someone was cutting boards with electric saw. And this shop is near the space for walker tents. It\'s difficult to fall asleep early with such noises.
Also, try not to set your tent near tables and benches for cooking. They have chimneys there. So, if someone cooks using firewood, the smoky odor spreads 10-15 m around. We had to relocate due to this reason.
There are only two positive points in this campsite. First, it\'s under the trees. So, it\'s convenient to tie a cord for your clothes to dry after washing. And there is shadow to protect from the sun. So, it\'s not so hot in a tent if you stand the whole day. Second, the shop behind the reception is very rich. I haven\'t seen so many good in other campsite shops during TMB.
For us it was the worst campsite of the whole TMB. I wouldn\'t recomend it.
