Basically it\'s a car park with attached camping. Half the campsite has been tarmaced over and turned into day parking for Pompei visitors. 200+ car parking spaces. 89 pitches. 6 stalls in mens toilet for use by 89 pitches and over 200 cars, taxis and tourist buses. Does not accept ACSI discount card. Noisy (trains, cars and buses with engine and aircon running), gardener starts leaf blowing in car park at 7am. No security - site open to the car park users and anyone else who wanders in. Attached hotel rents rooms by the hour, so car comings and goings during the night especially at weekends. I do not believe this has been ACSI inspected for some time and inspector has not stayed overnight to experience the chaos and noise here. Restaurant and bar closes at 1800.

our 3rd stay at Zeus and it is much improved. much cleaner altogether and very acceptable sanitary facilities.. we think the office has moved and that they\'ve put toilets in for the car park which helps a lot. Happy to return!

If you want to visit Pompeii, Herculalium and Versuvius this is a great base. Situated by railway station and entrance to Pompeii with info centre selling tickets for buses up volcano. Pitches are in old orange grove so shaded but tight, ok if you can drive! Facilities are very tired, toilets work and are clean but washing sinks visible to all and we did not try showers. Felt safe and secure to leave our camper.

Camping Zeus has only one use, to visit the ruins of Pompeii or go up Mount Vesuvius. The entrance to the ruin is adjacent to the site and a tourist bus for Vesuvius leaves from outside the gates. On our visit the site was over full; a significant part of the site is given over to car parking (which is obviously more profitable) and we had to wait two hours for a space on the car park to be available (we had rung ahead and been promised a pitch but staff not completely truthful regarding availability). The toilets/showers are very tired and the rubbish bins overflowing. Be aware that there are few places to eat; they all seem to shut up when the ruins close. The area around the campsite is dirty and rubbish strewn, such a pity as the ruins are worth visiting.

The site access and leaving is difficult, we had problems leaving as cars in the car parking area were protruding into the track. A caravan outfit in front of us had a nightmare trying to manoeuvre. The site is ideally placed to visit Pompeii but that is where it ended. The pitches are difficult to get on and off and are of limited space. The toilets and showers ( the ones that worked ) were tired, locks on doors were a problem as was hot water, they were cleanish. Staff were uninterested and unhelpful. Was going to stay for a few days , but visited the ruins and left within the 24 hour charging band. If wanting to visit Pompeii , then it is an "option"

Camping Zeus has only one use, to visit the Ruins of Pompeii. or, if you want to, go up Mount Vesuvius. It is ideal for both as the ruins entrance is literally next door and a tourist bus for Vesuvius leaves from directly outside the gates. Other than as an overnight stopover to visit these two attractions Camping Zeus has nothing whatsoever to offer campers! The toilets/showers were disgusting, the chemical disposal point a health risk and the pitches very small with low overhanging branches making life very difficult. The rubbish bins were overflowing during our stay and stank to high heaven. Half of the site is given over to car parking which is obviously more profitable. Thete is noting to do and few decent places to eat after about 7.00pm when the ruins close. Most eateries served up sandwiches or other 'Fast Food' Streets around the campsite were dirty, rubbish strewn and dangerous to walk on. The whole area was in a state of decline. We will never visit Camping Zeus again.

Very convenient for the ruins and Vesuvius but the site was chronically over-filled with the result that some units were within touching distance of their neighbours. The free showers were OK but only cold water was supplied to the sinks which was also the single source for replenishing our aquaroll. The stink of stagnant water surrounded the central area and the only two pitches capable of accommodating our 8m caravan were flooded with it. We stayed on the car park surrounded by private taxis for the two days we were there. So disappointing because it's an orange grove - could have been so beautiful. We managed to catch a good pizzeria before it closed at 19:30 - the other stalls had all gone home by then leaving the area unexpectedly quiet. Trying to be positive - the staff were mainly helpful but not completely truthful regarding the availability of a pitch. If visiting this area again we would avoid this site.
