Sited alongside a river, the location is promising on paper. However the nearby A12 and naval helicopter base ensure that there is continual background noise day and night, especially low flying aircraft on exercises. Toilet facilities are grim - traditional squats for half the units, whilst ceramic bowls have no seats. Shower cubicles are small. Positive factors are the good size of pitches, helpful staff, modest price and accessible low-speed wi-fi across the site.

Travelling party: Family with children <4 years
We chose this campsite based on the toddler pool for kids from 1 to 3 yrs and animation that would be available for young children ( mini club). The toddler pool was too deep and very small ( size of two whirlpools) Animation was not present. Staff were very unfriendly, especially the restaurant staff. We will never visit again and were very disappointed.

This site is a sight!!!! The first thing you see is a shanty town of built-on static vans. The facilities are from another era and everything was scruffy. The redeeming feature was the pool and restuarant. The owner allowed us to use the disabled shower and toilet attatched to the bar area.

Off season. Pleasant site, amenities and access good. Bar pleasant. Restaurant excellent. Toilets tired but kept very clean with good supply of hot water. Camping pitches less than 10% occupied so plenty of room.
Would certainly return on another occasion.

Terrible in Oct 2012. Toilets trashed, doors hanging off. Rubbish everywhere on site. Facilities closed that were advertised as open (pool, cafe, bar). Site full of old dilapidated statics. Couldn't wait to leave. Not worthy of ACSI.
