Osensjøen Camping is located in the province of Hedmark, between Rena and Jordet. This campsite is situated on the Osensjøen, a vast lake. The campsite features a wide sandy beach, which is a great place to be when the weather's fine. Multiple cross-country skiing trails run past the campsite which serve as signposted hiking trails in the summer. All in all, it's the perfect base for the ideal Nordic outdoor holiday.
Once you have passed the entrance gate, you will find the touring pitches on your right-hand side. This is a slightly sloping grassy field with spacious pitches. All the pitches have a view of the own boat jetty in the vast lake. Fine camping pitches for tents, caravans and camper vans alike!
In the central part of the campsite, on the left-hand side, you will see the communal building with the reception, cafetaria, guest room and a few toilets. A little further down amongst the seasonal pitches you will find the modern sanitary building with all sorts of facilities, including a cooking area and another guest room. All the buildings are equipped with underfloor heating. The campsite also has five modern camping cabins (suitable for up to four people).
At the campsite you can rent a canoe, surfing board or pedal boat. The lake makes for fine swimming. For everyone's safety, buoys mark the part of the lake which is safe for swimming. The sandy beach is one of the longest in the interior of Norway. Hence its nickname: 'Costa del Osen'.
And winter sports
Osensjøen Camping is open year-round. This means that in the winter months, the campsite lies tucked in under a thick blanket of snow. The lake is also frozen over during the winter. The snow especially offers plenty of opportunities; dozens of signposted cross-country skiing trails are marked far and wide in the surrounding area.
