In the south of Portugal (the Algarve), close to the coast, you will find camping site Albufeira. This is a friendly family camping site with many hibernators during low season. The terrain slopes slightly but has flat pitches. The atmosphere is convivial and hospitable and there is a nice balance between activities and peace and quiet. The camping site is attractively located amidst a hilly landscape with interesting villages.
A pleasant, green camping site
On your way to the camping site you see a spacious field with beautiful swimming pools in the centre. You may choose one of the various (shaded and sunny) pitches. Albufeira is a camping site where you will soon feel at home. There is little demarcation between the pitches, but there are a large number of trees and plants. You camp on a hard, flat surface. In addition to camping pitches, there are rental mobile homes and bungalows.
Swimming and sunbathing
The swimming pools are located in full sun. From here you have a splendid view of the area. There is a toddler pool and and there are sufficient loungers around the pools. You can order a snack or a drink from the nearby restaurant. The beach is a few km down the road.
Regional products and sanitary facilities
The camping site has a good and affordable restaurant with a small and an extensive menu. There is a supermarket with a reasonably large selection and a choice of fresh food. You will also find good regional products here. There is a recreation hall for shows and parties. The sanitary facilities are spacious and clean and are divided over a number of blocks. There are special facilities for babies, children and disabled persons.

This was our third stay at this large site, north of Albufeira. Unless booked to use the rally field, touring units have to find a pitch at the top of the site, typically, alongside one of the access roads (so limited space for an awning). Good on-site restaurant and well-stocked supermarket at site entrance. Short bus ride into Albufeira.
We were there for 6 weeks. Campsite quite haphazard on the top pitches as no markings but no problems. Everyone very friendly and Those not on leads seemed to come from the bungalows. 20-30 minute walk into town. Only problem was the number of stray cats which somebody was encouraging by feeding them, annoyed our dog! Very few dogs not on leads.
No marked pitches so take pot luck in the season. Free wifi but it\'s so bad don\'t include it as an extra! 2 pin electrics but powered kettle ok. Toilet blocks very busy , but it was August so expect a wait at certain times. Cleaners did well and they always looked OK. Toilet blocks Very open with no windows so wouldn\'t like to be here out of the summer. Site good with plenty to do. Town and beach a good walk away, but go along the path away from the road and use the underpass it was ok. Reception had a number system to help with large q,s. Not perfect, but would stay again!
Four night stay on our ACSI card - the site grew on us. It is a large site, lovely pool/restaurant area which needs a bit of TLC. Excellent sanitary fcilities but cold water for washing up! Restauarnt and supermarket on site which were both very good. The staff were very pleasant and spoke good English. This site felt very secure.
This place was the best in Portugal. It has open
Pitches with plenty of room. The facilities are
So well maintained everything seemed as new
And they work hard to ensure that happens
The staff were not just friendly they were very
Efficient and spoke many languages. It was a short
Bus ride or 20min stroll into town for the strip
Or beach. I stayed in the October and stayed here
Longer than any other camp site in Portugal
and is the only site I would go back to. 10 put of
10 from me.
Good site, very friendly staff & helpful. Just wish some campers would adhere to the RULES of the campsite & KEEP DOGS ON A LEAD! Not a lot to ask! Otherwise a very good site.
Good place for wintertime, close to town and beach. Wifi only near the restaurant. We were there 1 month and we will come back soon.
The reception staff at the time could not have been more unhelpful and dis-interested in if you stayed or not.
Would I stay here again; definately not!!!!!!!
Retired couple from UK, car + twin axle caravan, stay planned for two weeks, only cut short by illness to wife who had to fly back to UK. Thanks to all the staff for their help during her time taken ill. We loved this site and what it offered. It is a short distance away from the old town of Albuferia, and the beach. Also close to supermarkets and good priced wine and spirit shops. The camp site has excellent security for entrance and exit (even if you are walking!!). This site is a long haul from the Spanish ports of Santander & Bilbao, and although we decided to route to Sallamanca and through to Fatima for a 2 day stop and then Lisboan to Albuferia, I returned (of course on my own (since my wife had flown back several days earlier) via Seville, Cordoba, Madrid and then to Bilbao. I chose this return route because Spain was a lot closer to the border for cheaper fuel.
