Not far from the Portugues Costa de Prata, the "Silver Coast", lies Vale Paraíso Natur Park. This campsite is less than three kilometres from the broad beaches of the charming coastal town of Nazaré. It is located in the middle of a spruce forest. These forests are typical of the region, which has yet to be discovered by throngs of tourists.
Terrace camping in the woods
The pitches, which are scattered between the spruce trees, are at different heights. This makes the camping site appear as if it is terraced. The pitches have been evened out well, so it is not all that difficult to get your camping equipment to sit level. The camping site also features a fair number of bungalows, apartments and lightweight tents for use.
Aquatic fun in the swimming pool and the sea
On the camping site, you can take a dip in the swimming pool, which is heated by the sun. Want to spend the entire day out on the water? In that case, the Atlantic Ocean is your answer here. Along the coastline, from Peniche to Figueira da Foz, are the most beautiful beaches.
The beaches in Nazaré are the closest to the camping site. These tend to be a bit more tourist-oriented than elsewhere along the coast, they also happen to be very wide. There is plenty of room for everyone. Nazaré is a true paradise for surfers and wind surfers.
An active holiday
You can burn off your energy on more than just big waves. On the camping site, you can choose from the basketball court, football field, the fitness area or the squash tennis court to wear yourself out.

Travelled all the way from Coimbra via Tomar expecting a pleasant stay in the evening. Arriving at the gates towing a large caravan, I was told to drive in and see where I wanted to pitch. I found this to be a Legoland with tiny angular pitches at different heights just like Lego blocks. The whole site looked unappealing and I exited the site after driving around. In my opinion this site is suitable for small motorhomes and camper vans only. Caravans will find it difficult to manoeuvre into a pitch unless small and driver has reversing capabilities.
We stayed with a camper on this campsite. This was our first camping experience in Portugal, so we booked for 4 nights ahead based on a stunning website promising all sorts of things, like a wonderful shop and restaurant. Promises made on the website, were simply a lie. The restaurant was terrible, there was no shop, not even a little bakery for bread in the morning. Sanitair was terrible, not even seats on the toilets, no light in the washing area. We left 2 days earlier because we were very unhappy and asked for our money back for the 2 nights that we didn\'t spend. We were asked to send an e-mail that no one responds. Very, very bad service. I\'m never coming back here
Nature provides the sunset for free, for a few euros one can spend some time here under cooling Pine trees, relaxing to bird song, big clean pool, children facility look good, mini supermarket, games room, good wifi, and clean I like clean, most definitely one of the better sites we have visited Enjoy.
the site is adjacent a main road but it\'s bigger enough for you to find a pitch well away from any noise if you wish we were quite close to it and it didn\'t disturb us at all. virtually all the pitches were level and well maintained. Staff were very professional and friendly with plenty of information available regarding places of interest to visit.wifi was excellent in a very comfortable lounge you could use.washing up facilities , showers and toilets were all well maintained , plenty of hot water!
Nazaire is a really nice town , but it\'s a long hill back up to the site if you\'re cycling ! we had a scooter so were able to get to some outlying villages. This is a very good site and would happily return.
We came here in mid March for 1 or 2 nights and stated for a week. Very friendly helpful staff. Lovely wooded site. Toilet blocks are fine if a little outdated. It's a short bike ride into Nazare which is an interesting town. There are extensive walks through pine woods - either to the beach or towards Fatima. Shop and cafe a bit basic at this time of year, and not much entertainment on offer, but plenty of sports facilities including a big gym. We are likely to return.
We stayed a week to visit surrounding region. Site is a fair walk from Nazare and we used a hire car. Pitches at the end near reception were good size and level, but shower and toilets very dated. Main issue was trying to locate clean water for filling motorhome tank as those taps that were available were over the chemical waste disposal.
Helpful staff, very clean loos and a good pitch - what more can you ask for? Some of the pitches could be very difficult to access because this site has some steep hills to negotiate! But out of season there are plenty of pitches to choose from, so not a problem. Close to Nazare itself and also a Continente supermarket (no fuel) and a Lidl. Just accross the road you can start to walk the Fatima Way (ideal for dogs off the lead). Our little toilet block was spotless but a bit tired. We understand that it is to be renovated in November. We stayed a week and would definately return. Tomar is about an hour's drive away and Alcobaca about 30 mins. Both destinations are a 'must see'.
Specifically chose this site for wifi coverage as I had urgent business to attend to . WIFI coverage is limited, [advertised as 80% in fact not even 5%] to [freezing cold] cafe. Staff were first class, very friendly. Showers were luke warm at best.
