For an Orbiter site the reception areas and restaurant areas are modern. As usual though the staff have one pace. There are very few marked out pitches and so most are huddled under trees. Three are about 10 pitches at the top though near the cabins which are much better. There are also about 16 fully serviced pitches behind the restaurant but these are only about 70sqm. The beach is about 20 mins walk over the sand dunes on a boardwalk and there is 9k cycle path around the coast to Cascais which is a bustling place with many restaurants. At Guincho itself there are a handful of upmarket restaurants. There is also a bus from the site to Cascais. Sinatra is a drive away and is very busy. Guincho beach is quite dramatic and popular with surfers.
Arrived and paid for two nights, told to find my own pitch. I tried for 30 minutes to find a patch that was flat and not full of rock. I couldn\'t. They were happy to refund my money but I did not get the full amount back! Good business, have you campsite absolutely full, make people pay to find out its full then you don\'t get a full refund. Won\'t come here again.
A lovely site. Staff are very helpful and speak English. Lovely pool and facilities. We used a local restaurant one evening which was fantastic. We also took a nice evening walk to the beach to watch the sunset. One day we drove into Cascais, easy drive and lovely town. ANother day we took a taxi to Cascai train station (7 euros) and a train to Lisbon (only 9euros return). Lovely way to see some sights and be part of the local area.
A lovely site.
Helpful staff and nice pitches set amongst the pine trees. Excellent pool and nice bar with pretty cheap beer. Shop was quite good. Nice cycle along the coast into Cascais which is a cheerful seaside resort. To reach Sintra by bus you need a bus into Cascais then a bus out to Sintra. Takes a while but remember to purchase a tourist bus ticket which included buses to the various palaces around Sintra as well as all the local buses. Sintra definitely worth seeing. We spent 2 days there and didn\'t see everything.
Also if you are feeling rich try the 1* Michelin restaurant Fortaleza de Guincho, in an old converted fort on the seafront, a short walk from the campsite via the protected dunes. The food was sensational.
The campsite was located near Cascais (could cycle there easily) and within walking distance to a great beach. Toilets and showers were okay, clean but no toilet seats or paper.
After getting used to no toilet paper or seats the site grew on us. The reception staff were very good. Interesting site full of windswept trees which could make it a little tricky to find a pitch as very few marked out, almost like wild camping! Facilities of the bar were very good. There was a dedicated WiFi area/room with a good signal which was free. One improvement could be the provision of more local information such as buses and trains as it is not walking distance into Cascais as I originally thought it would be. Good cycling area and beautiful beach down the road to watch the kite/wind surfers.

My husband and myself stayed here in our 9 meter motor home on two occasions earlier this year. The people who run this campsite, Vincent and co, are fantastic, they were so helpful to us when we needed to buy a trailer for our motor bike and needed a welding job on our motor home. They allowed us to leave our camper on the pitch we chose for a month at a reduced price and we knew it would be safe!
A big thank-you to Diana on reception, nothing was too much trouble and Claudia in the restaurant, their spoken English faultless and personalities so happy and pleasant :)
The pool here is fab and the beaches amazing with huge waves for those who love surfing. We would score Guincho 10/10.
We stayed here mainly to bus into Sintra and train into Lisbon from Cascais stations. The bus to Cascais stops outside the site and the last bus home is 8 pm and stops in the village but it was a nice enough walk back. Although we taxied back the evening we returned from an amazing day in Lisbon on the last train. The swimming pool was good and well kept and the walk to Quincho beaches were a couple of miles away unless you caught the bus which was a lovely tour to and along the beaches and through the lovely old villages en route to Cascais bus station where the buses are frequent to Sintra, well worth a visit to the Palace. I think most of the visitors to this site were there to do the same and it was a great place to pitch up.
This site had a fantastic setting in pine woods by sand dunes leading to Guincho Beach. The pitches were massive (for a tent anyway) with plenty of room for a tent, table, camping stove etc. The pool area was very busy and wi fi was only available around the bar area. Toilet blocks were serviceable with only cold water washing up facilities. The site was extremely handy for Lisbon with a regular train from Cascais station. Cascais was very busy while trying to get to the station so if I was going again, I would park in Estoril (first stop down the line). A great site for a short stop to visit Lisbon, Sintra etc.
