OK port in a storm. After a long hot drive from Valencia we glad to find this campsite. On the face of it OK - sanitary fine - restaurant minimal and no decent options with a dog.
The pitches were marked out and offered shade. The one we were allocated was being used as a car park by our neighbours who were surly and reluctant to make it available to us. Not a good start.
The campsite filled up during the early evening and was generally very noisy - TV sets blaring outside outside an d lots of music. I know if don\'t like the noise don\'t go to Spain! Having lived in Spain for a while this was more than usual.
Good it provided a stopover - I would not liked to stay longer - but the area is certainly worth a visit and some good camping is to be found going down towards the lighthouse along super beaches... for another time maybe.
Alles irgendwie alt und kaputt.
Ungepflegt! Viele tote Vogelbabys, generell seeeehr viele Vögel!!
Alt znd kaputte Spurl bzw Sportanlagen.
Wir kamen mit dem Personal auch auf Englisch nicht zurecht...
Weg zum Strand sind auch mehr als 2km... und wir bewegen uns gern...
In November the pool was still open although no one was brave enough to use it. The site is within walking distance of a lovely beach and a small town.
We paid extra for a larger pitch which was nicely situated. The shower blocks were modern, very clean and well maintained.
An interesting stroll through desert landscape to beach and pleasant village of Cabo Gato where there are bars and small shops. Transport needed to reach anywhere else. Peaceful site with helpful reception. Really enjoyed our stay but wouldn't want to be there for longer than a few days.
Campsite is clean, pitches are large and gravel. Toilets and facilities excellent. No complaints on this site we stayed two weeks and would possibly have stayed longer but for the constant wind which is evidently normal for this time of year. Really enjoyed the walk to and from the beach passing a lake full of flamingoes. Site staff were very helpful with suggestions for walking routes.
We visit every year it's a great site with very friendly and helpful staff good facilities, there are lots of things to do with a beach not 20 minutes walk away great for dog walkers
If you've never visited Southern Spain before the poly-tunnels on the road it can be a bit disconcerting. There are quite a lot of polytunnels adjacent to the campsite (not overly intrusive) and on the walk to the beach which is unfortunate.
Friendly site, immaculate toilets & showers. Plenty of hot water. Spacious pitch with no shades (supports for shades are in place so suspect the shades were removed for winter) which is good.
Only stayed 1 night as we had stayed 3 nights at a site on the East coast of Cabo de Gata - our route took us to it first. We think "Cabo de Gata" is the better site but the other site had a better (and poly-tunnel free) location.
