Just spent 4 nights here and it\'s one of the nicest campsites we\'ve stayed at. The staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them. The facilities are very clean and in very good condition. Its a small place but in my opinion that makes it better as there is no noisy crowds or queuing for the loo!! The pitches are a decent size pretty level. I would thoroughly recommend staying here with either tent/caravan/camper.
An excellent campsite. Our pitch was level and a reasonable size. We stayed for 4 nights in February and would have stayed longer but the weather was changing. Had an excellent meal in the restaurant. A good site to visit Cordoba, Medina Azahara and Ecija (a beautiful small town) must roman and moorish history in the area. Campsite has a lot of local information and the Owner could not have been more helpful.
The Negatives: road noise - shared toilets/showers - no toilet seats - toilet/shower doors too small for privacy - chemical disposal point basic.
The Positives: Matilde, the owner is a young women who is an absolute joy to meet, she is utterly committed to her business and is passionate about this area of Spain. She will go out of her way to help and advise, and she even organises and personally runs guided tours of the area, including visits to local Olive oil facilities and Bodega\'s.
She is a one stop Tourist Information centre with a warm personality and very good English & French.
This is not camping for the masses, but if you appreciate rural Spain then spend at least a few days at La Campina, you\'ll not regret it. We stayed longer than originally intended.
We can recommend Matilda\'s rabbit paella.
We\'ll definitely stay here again when we return to Spain.
This is a small (31 pitches) site on the edge of the village of La Guijarrosa. It is not ACSI and so more expensive than other sites we have visited in mainland Europe, however everything is included in the price - electricity, nternet etc., etc.
The owner Matilde and her staff speak excellent English and are keen to help in every way they can. Indeed when one of the site trees backed into our car they were of great help interpreting for us with the garage and providing a telephone answering service.
The site may be small but it’s perfectly formed, the facilities are modern and spotlessly clean with all the requirements - loo paper, soap, towels etc but no toilet seats. The pitches are large and flat and at this time of year sunny although I can envisage lack of shade being a problem at the height of summer.
There is a swimming pool, restaurant and bar all of which are closed at the time of year we visited but fresh bread is available in reception every morning. There are shops in the adjacent La Guijarrosa town the centre of which is less than 2km (1.2 ml) from the site.
This is a very good site to which we will return and that we can unreservedly recommend.
No hacen descuento ACSI.
A beautiful spot, right in the middle of Andalucia
We had a wonderful time on this site.
Mind you, we have the right to speak. In April and May, we stayed for almost four weeks at Camping La Campina. Without exaggeration, we found it difficult to leave.
The main reason was the appealing and welcoming atmosphere at the camp. With their casual and enthusiastic attitude Matilde and her staff take care for a great atmosphere. They manage to combine in a convincing manner professionalism and commitment.
Due to the good team spirit you feel right \"at home\". Of course, the free sandwiches with marmalade every morning are very special. Important too is the small scale of the site, creating an intimate atmosphere. Also the attractiveness of the surrounding area plays an important role: the camping site is embedded in the hills and surrounded by olive groves. The location of the site, in the heart of Andalucia, near Cordoba, is a big advantage.
Matilde can tell passionate about her relationship with this part of the world. Her parents were pioneers. She came as a girl with them and her brother from Madrid to this place when it was still a farm. She is proud of the site, what she - with her family and staff - has made of it. She performs strongly in the footsteps of her parents. Impressive was a conversation with her about this personal history in the original living room of the farmhouse.
Matilde is strongly connected with the region. She knows a lot about the local history and enjoys to share her knowledge. Her office looks like a tourist office, she provides advice but also organizes excursions.
If you\'ve been there, you know what we mean.
