A very friendly site owner was very funny and receptionist. Good shop on site fresh bread daily (rustico). Pitches are clean and the roads around the camp are difficult to negotiate... Showers and toilets good , hot water. Cycling area .
Good location near the beach, staff were friendly. As per other reviews manoeuvring around the campsite is very tight. You will struggle if your motorhome is over 6 m in length. I had to take off my bicycles and fold up the bike rack in order to just about fit onto the pitch. The trees could do with a trim as they scrapped along the top of my low profile motorhome when going down the tight lanes. There is very little to do in the area other than a nice walk along the promenade or a swim in the sea.
Stayed two nights. Lots of mosquitos and little flies that bite. Nice pool but no sun beds you have to lie on Astro turf as no chairs allowed by pool. Site tight to manoeuvre around for bigger vans. We struggled to get our 7 metre van on and had to try five pitches and then parked at angle. Beach opposite is nice but pebbly. A couple of bars are still open with 10 mins walk and 1 does food. Site shop basic but open. Showers powerful but not always hot. No hot water for washing up. Nothing local to see.
The swimming pool itself was great but the downside was that you have to sit on the floor around the pool. It has AstroTurf but it would be better if there was chairs or beds allowed. All the staff were fantastic really helpful. If you have a big motorhome book before you get there, I suggest plots 1-5.
Two campsites together here in Motril, both under the same name, we stopped in the smaller campsite on the left, well laid out, nice sized pitches and plenty of shade, with netted flooring which was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Local buses were available to the city centre of Motril, you could walk it, but quite a distance. The local town of Playa de Granada has all the shops you need even has a supermarket open on a Sunday
Playa Poniente is a superb site near yes a grey pebble beach but quiet and tranquil. The campsite has a good restaurant and the shop is adequate. Everything you need is nearby, good walking, cycling and local commerce. The pool is sparkling, the tennis courts great and the winter programme if you wish to partake is interesting. Dog friendly as well. Will always return .
Booked for two nights via ACSI link, good prompt reply. Arrived and checked in, very easy. Picked our own pitch as plenty of space available. Toilets and showers very good and clean. Restaurant and bar were closed for holidays, so not used. Shop well stocked and reasonably priced.
The only fault was that the roads within the site were a bit tight, especially with an 8m motor home. A few problems with the overhanging trees. Would visit again.
Would recommend for a beach holiday.
A very friendly site owner was very accommodating. Small shop on site fresh bread daily. Pitches are a bit small and the roads around the camp are difficult to negotiate. We had 8 meter van and emailed beforehand. The owner reserved us a pitch which was fine. Showers and toilets good plenty of hot water. Area great for cycling.
Arrived for two days and stayed for a week! Lovely site, toilets and showers clean and water always hot at whatever time I visited. Surroundings are pleasant in fact the site is on the seafront over a quiet road. With one of the most beautiful car parks I have ever seen. The beach is very clean but, in common with most on this coastline, it is that nasty black sand/ gravel. Still the promenade was beautiful with a good cycle track.....Yes, Internet had to be paid for on the site but was excellent when we were there, you did get 20 minutes per day free though but that wasn't enough for us. Motril was a surprisingly pleasant town and the bus service every half hour stops just outside the camp gates ... Pitches are a reasonable size but do not have water, so fill up when you arrive. Larger motor homes might have a struggle getting onto some pitches so check before you book in! We will certainly return.
Was not too impressed. One toilet block out of action. Hot water a bit sporadic. Pitches a bit tight and very close together. Don't think it's ACSI but does a price match. Beach at Poniente I'd decidedly unattractive with grey shingle type beach. Probably would not return.
