You camp here at about twenty minutes' walk from Trevélez, a small white mountain village in Andalusia situated at an altitude of 1,476 metres. Yes, here you are at the foot of the Sierra Nevada. And at the highest campsite in Spain! Incidentally, this does mean that you can only reach this place with a strong (towing) car or motorhome. The area is very isolated, which makes it nice and quiet.

Camping in silence and in the mountains

Once you arrive, you will see that it is a green and quiet campsite with a hundred or so pitches. These are mostly flat and have a fair amount of shade. The pitches are situated on different terraces against a steep slope. Pay attention to the pitch you book. Manoeuvring a large caravan or motorhome is difficult at some levels.

At Trevélez campsite there are also several bungalows, log cabins and cottages for rent. These are suitable for two to six people. The campsite's sanitary facilities are very clean. There is paper on the toilets and the shower water is warm.

Modest entertainment and charming restaurant

There is a small swimming pool to cool down in. There are also several loungers on the side to relax with a book or to enjoy the sun. There is also a table tennis table and a playground for children.

The restaurant is charming and authentically decorated. At the bar, you can sit and enjoy drinks and a view of the valley. There is also a small shop for basic groceries.

Liked - Me gustó el pueblo de Trevelez
Disliked - No me gustó nada el camping, no tiene nada que ver con lo que se ve en la web. Para empezar una de las ventanas del bungalow Peñabon estaba rota no cerraba y no me parece nada seguro cualquiera se podía colar en la cabaña, además lleva tiempo le habian puesto un clavo en vez de arreglarla. La limpieza pesima habia hasta telarañas y las sabanas sucias y con pelos vaya que ni las habian cambiado. Pasamos frio porque cn la ventana que no cerraba entraba frio. Luego el coche hay que dejarlo abajo y subir unas escaleras empinadas con todo el equipaje cosa que no especifican. Sin duda no volveremos.

Liked - Situación privilegiada, lugar precioso, población muy bien cuidada y tranquila.
Disliked - Aseos sin puerta en el exterior, secador de manos roto, aseos un poco deficientes, duchas para las movil home y lavaplatos muy lejanas, casitas de madera un poco abandonadas y con deficiencias, carteles informativos de llegada al camping en carretera inexistentes, le falta al camping mayor atención, sensación de abandono..

wir waren für eine Nacht auf dem Platz, wurden sehr freundlich empfangen. Die Sanitären Anlagen sind einfach aber sehr sauber. Warmwasser gibt es nicht überall.

Liked - Der Platz hoch in den Bergen hat einfach was besonderes. Die Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit ist perfekt geeignet um zu entspannen. Die sanitären Anlagen sind alt aber mit Charme und sauber. Der Empfang sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
