Do you like the combination of sea and mountains? If so, Camping Las Hortensias is the place for you. You are staying here on the green coast of Spain, the Costa Verde. The renowned Parque Nacional Picos de Europa is situated in the area. Moreover, the campsite has direct access to a fine sandy beach.

Attractive hydrangeas

You will be staying among an abundance of hydrangeas on the grounds. The pitches are located in long rows on a lawn along paved roads. Some have a sea view and some are partly shaded. Rows of trees, hedges and a few buildings provide shelter against the wind. The camping is surrounded by tree-covered hills. The sanitary facilities on the campsite are new and are cleaned daily.

Beautiful sandy beach

It takes less than a minute to walk to the beautiful and sheltered sandy beach, bordering the campsite. For children (possibly for adults, too) this is one big play paradise. The considerable tidal difference will allow you to amble between the rocks, where there are lovely little water pools for children. There is also a great eating establishment at the beach. From here you have a superb sea view. Over weekends, many Spanish day visitors flock to the bay, but during the week the hotel and camping guests have the place virtually to themselves.

Fun and games

Apart from the beach, children will enjoy the playground and soccer field.

The camping shop has a generous range. Feel like a luxury meal out? The adjacent hotel offers a good daily menu at discounted prices to camping guests.

"Family campsite by the sandy beach of the Cantabrian coast. A safe and exciting beach during low tide, with inlets filled with fish. Perfect for young children. Campsite guests receive a 10% discount at the hotel restaurant. A 10% discount in June and September. Excellent toilet block."

No volveremos nunca, lo resumo:
1.Parcelas pequeñas.
2.No hay ni una toma de agua en todo el camping, hay que ir sí o sí, al fregadero a echar y recoger agua, , aunque estés en la otra punta del camping.
3.Los servicios hiper limpios ( por el tama COVID), pero el químico, deja bastante que desear, primero, porque la gente es una marrana y lo deja todo sucio y segundo, porque no lo limpian tan regularmente como los servicios y...., para mi, es casi más necesario.
4. El horario para no hacer ruido son las 12 de la noche, ni ellos lo respetan, dejan entrar a las caravanas hasta las 12 de la noche y no controlan si se instalan en silencio o hacen ruido hasta las 00,40, cómo nos pasó a nosotros.
5. En el horario de siesta, \"dicen\" que no se puede hacer ruido, cada uno hace lo que se le pone en la punta del moño y hasta ellos, se ponen a hacer ruido con el soplador de hojas a las cuatro de la tarde.
6. No hay casi cobertura para los móviles y de ver la televisión, hay que olvidarse, nosotros, no pillamos ni un canal.
7.Respecto a la situación, sí que está al lado de la playa, pero está en un puñetero hoyo, que para salir y entrar al camping necesitas el coche o jugarte la vida con la bici o andando por la carretera que baja al camping, sin prácticamente arcén y con dos curvas super cerradas en las que pasan dos coches justos y si ya llevas remolque, ni te cuento...., además, se hacen unos atascos con la gente que va a la playa, que te puedes liar a tortas en plena carretera.
8. Las parcelas, en un camping de primera, deberían estar impolutas, en la nuestra, había cómo 20 colillas, plásticos y demás residuos de los anteriores campistas (por llamarlos algo, el buen campistas, recoge su porquería).

En resumen, que lo de ser de primera, no sé si se lo merece

Liked - Muy buena ubicación frente a la playa
Disliked - Zonas muy descuidadas como la que estaba junto a nuestra parcela, usada como almacén y con montones de hierba seca en el suelo.
Zona de servicios de autocaravanas de difícil acceso y vaciado muy complicado sobre una arqueta pequeña.
Parque infantil muy descuidado.
