We visited over Easter when the site was busy with Spanish families. We stayed on the lower side of the road. All facilities apart from the top swimming pool were open. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Staff were continually cleaning the toilet facilities which were spotless. Copious hot water everywhere. Electricity was prone to tripping, not sure of mains supply, but guess 10A.
Pitches were organised around trees. This can result in a marked pitch having space on both sides of your unit, rather than all on one side. Long walk with grey water if you fon’t use ghe motorhome dump area (or maybe I just didn’t find the right spot).
We came for 2 days and stayed for 10 which says it all great site people and beautiful location we are planning to revisit in 2016 loved it do not pass this site its the tops.
Best campsite we have stayed at. Staff are very helpful and friendly and clean constantly- even the pitches are swept! Lonely walk to the beach and several places to eat on the way.
Stayed here for 10 nights in June. Very helpful staff, very clean facilities and a great location. Will certainly return.
Stayed here for six nights, a welcome and relaxing break. Although we checked in on Easter Sunday the site was peaceful and the Spanish weekenders were very well behaved! Our pitch was on the upper level and afforded us plenty of room for our caravan, car, awning and washing line. Internet was good, it worked across the site. Good supermarket just outside the site although there is one directly opposite the reception. Only downside for us was that the hot water was switched off after the holidays. Reception said we could stay where we were and use the block on the opposite side of the road or move pitches to the other side. We chose to stay and use our own facilities. The toilets and chemical disposal were still okay. Plenty to do and see in the area, we drove out to Cadaques, Llfranc and l\'Escala. The bay of Montgo is very pretty with lots of bars and restaurants. Beautiful scenery and lots of walks to do - improved our stamina getting up and down the hill. Wouldn\'t say we\'d not visit again. Thank you Illa Mateua
Always a friendly and helpful welcome from the staff who seem to be able to communicate with a multitude of customers from different countries. Pitches are not always easily accessible for larger units but in the main are reasonably flat and a good choice of sun and shade. Toilet facilities are excellent and are always kept scrupulously clean.
Both swimming pools are well maintained and supervised, the one at the top of the site has particularly good views.
What a superb site! A great welcome and superb toilet facilities that seemed to be monitored and cleaned 24/7. You felt that the cleaner was waiting to do her job again as soon as you had finished. The site is located close to the cliffs where there are good walks in both directions around the bays. We only used it as a night halt but have resolved to return when we have done some homework into the local area. As others have mentioned cards are not accepted (they say that they donate part of your fee to charity). Pitches are a generous size and, despite being on sand, are easy to access and to leave.
A beautiful pine-shaded campsite close to shops, beach and coastal walks. The nearby town has many restaurants and cafés to suit all tastes.
We walked from the campsite along the coast to the Greek and Roman ruins at Empuries and was well worth the effort.
This campsite gets better every year. The toilet facilities are immaculate and are cleaned very frequently. The reception staff are always happy to help. The pitches are raked daily and the pine needles swept up. The bar and restaurant are very good, with a log fire in cold weather. Thoroughly recommended.
We stopped here in late june and early july 2013. Site very clean, no noise after 10pm, great! Very close to beach and shops. There is bread on site fresh made each day. Small supermarket on site but lager one with in 500 meters of gate lovely walks to town around cliffs. Security first class always around. Reception very good!!
