Big site with unseparated pitches. We were shown to the wrong one to start with. Main restaurant was basic but pleasant, other cafe areas not open or for very limited times. Nice sandy beach. Access info in ACSI guide seems no longer correct.
This was overall a great campsite and good value for money. It was one of the largest campsites we’ve ever stayed on and when we arrived on the Sunday, it was chaotic and we weren’t sure we were going to like it. However, it calmed down a lot as a lot of people left on Sunday night/early Monday morning.
We booked a pitch right next to the beach but unfortunately got stuck in the sand (we only have a small motorhome), so we moved to the second row back from the beach which was a mixture of sand and grass. The pitches were large in size and lots of water taps around.
The toilet facilities are excellent and really clean, some of the showers even have side jets. The washing up facilities are also good and there’s a place at the back where you can wash your van or car.
There’s a really well stocked supermarket but it’s a bit of a walk, from our pitch, it was a mile there and back.
The campsite is literally on the beach and it’s a lovely beach. We got the bus to Tarragona from outside the site which was easy and it’s a nIce town.
We didn’t have our bikes with us and we’d planned to hire some from the campsite but a) you weren’t allowed to take them off the campsite and b) they were really expensive and c) most were in disrepair.
The main disappointment was the bar and restaurant. The bar was only open on the Sunday we were there and wasn’t serving food - we were there in mid June so I would have expected it to be peak holiday season. We went to the main restaurant one night and the food was terrible, some of the worse I’ve ever had on a campsite. Pizza looked like a ready made frozen one which was ridiculous. The service was also quite poor.
Staff on reception by contrast were very helpful.
Good site during the week when it’s quieter but don’t bother with the restaurant.
Very well managed and maintained campsite.Yes, it\'s large and spread over 1.5km along the beach so it can be a bit of a walk to the toilet & shower facilities, but they are immaculate . In the \'ACSI\' periods it looks like the cafe is only open on Sat & Sun, but it does sell fresh pizzas( not that we had them).Very friendly and helpful staff at reception and excellent security on the site. Access to the fine sandy beach through numerous gates in the fence. With our 8m motor home we were pleased to get plot 1402, a large single plot at the end of a block, which was one away from the beach front plots which were extra, but with a mound of sand in front of them no one parked in front of us, so an unrestricted view of the sea. Again, yes the trains are fairly loud and frequent during the day, but far fewer at night and by the 3rd night I was unaware of them...mind you, I am a good sleeper!!. We used our scooter to visit Tarragona, Altafulla and Torredembarra...all worth a visit, especially all the Roman ruins in Tarragona.
This is a very large campsite and the touring pitches we were on we\'re a very long walk from the shop and restaurant. The beach is good and we caught a bus into Tarragona which was a wonderful place to visit. It would be worth bringing a bicycle because of the distance from the shop.
A very good site, well cared for and presented. All facilities very good, and a beautiful beach a short walk away. Bus stop about 20 minute walk. Cons: mosquitoes in abundance, protection a necessity, and site long and rectangular in shape, so good walk to shop, many used cars or bikes. Will stay again.
calidad precio excelente. Si no te importa el tema trenes, claro. Buen servicio y muy bien atendidos. Las parcelas son grandes. Importante llevar bici.
Well situated campsite on the beach and next to fairly noisy railway. Bus connection to Taragona which finishes early evening. Good walks along the cliffs to more secluded beaches. Cafe only opened weekend but take away pizzas were good. Swimming pool also only open weekends when we stayed. Very good supermarket. Pitches on the campsite roads which were busy and noisy at weekend but practically deserted rest of time.
Placed closed to a very beautiful beach. Very Kind staff. Restaurant redecorated. Good dishes for supper. Toilets clean. Surroundings good, little forest, beach and closed to Tarragona; beautiful city with plenty of places to visit.
Our unbooked appearance at the site produced a quietly efficient check-in and the pitch we were allocated was the one we would have picked for ourselves given the choice. The facilities and staff were superlative, we will definitely stay there again.
Nice campsite in a stunning beach. The camping area is improving year after year, but still not a luxury camping. The pitches are quite big and most of them are facing two streets, which gives you more space feeling. Staff is more friendly than other years, and the supermarket has been completely refurbished. Nice typical "beach restaurant" with good rice and food dishes. On the negative side, the toilets are quite old, simple, and not very clean.
