Camping A' Vouga, is located in the area of Costa da Morte right on a broad beach. You'll receive a warm welcome by Elida and her team at the reception. This is a very busy campground. You'll have to ignore the cluttered entrance to the campground, but once you arrive at the beach, you'll forget all about it.
Where will you be?
The property is a large field that is on a terrace above the beach. The sites are quite cramped and there are lots of sites with no shade. In the summer it is a very lively campground.
The location in the area surrounding Santiago de Compostela ensures the campers at Camping A' Vouga come from many nationalities. The pilgrimage trail is located about a two hour drive away and the bus stop is at the entrance to the campground.
You reach the beach via a stone stairway of 15 steps. The entrance is not suitable for less mobile people. 500 metres further on is the San Francisco beach, with a wooden jetty to the beach.
Dining with a view
The restaurant (only accessible by stairs) and the location with a view of the sea and the dishes served will surpass your expectations. Cocktails and other drinks are served in the campground bar. You can do your shopping in the supermarket in Louro (500 metres on foot).

Simple but excellent campsite. Clean with plenty of hot water. We were fortunate to have a sea view pitch - not many of them! Our first night we saw dolphins. The beach is lovely and we could take our dog on it. The restaurant had very nice food and lovely terrasse with sea views.
Nice site located next to the beach. A little tired but it\'s all there. We stayed a few nights in September and there was plenty of space. There sea front pitches are on a first fine basis and it seems that some pitch up the night before ready to move on to the first vacant one - hardly worth the effort.
The decision to visit this site was made because the bus stop outside took us to Santiago De Compostela (a dream nurtured for some years!). We were given a timetable and caught the bus the next morning, on arrival at the city we were told to get off outside the railway station, as the \"strike had started\". We were stranded 40 miles from the site. After walking two miles to the bus station, it became clear that the strike was for two days, and had occurred the two previous weeks, and would continue for the next few weeks. After a stressful and ruined day the only way back was to pay for a taxi.
Why did the campsite have no info on the strike and allowed others, as well as us, to be stranded? They also refused any compensation.
A badly run scruffy site, that ASCI need to re-inspect.
We pitched next to the beach, amazing views, lovely beach, nice walk into the village, and 3km from muros, bus stop outside the campsite.
Arrived at this campsite and were given a choice of pitches for our campervan but picked one along the stretch overlooking the sea. The view was amazing and this part of the campsite was more private than the rest - worth asking for pitches 1-15! All facilities clean, even a special place to bath your dog. Easy walk to local town along beachfront to supermarket or a bus ride into Muros for more shops. A fabulous place, we will be back! Only negative, restaurant was expensive.
Nice campsite with easy access to the beach. But beware the venomous fish (faneca?) found here. it is best to wear protective footwear when walking in the sea.
We arrived with high expectations having been recommended. The view did not disappoint in any way. Howver, the site itself was badly maintained -- grass had not been cut for at least a month (in mid September) and the pitch was untidy and full of obsolete ropes, lights and parking cones. Rubbish bins at the entrance to the site were more than overflowing - although this was the same throughout the area, so it was probably not the camp site\'s fault. We had no hot water for the 2 days we were there due to a faulty part, so we only paid half price, which was fair enough. It happens....The restaurant having come really highly recommended was truly dreadful. Nothing fresh at all on the daily menu.
We came across this site and saw a lovely spot right in the beach, the lovely lady on reception saved us this space for the next day, we arrived and was in heaven for a few days. The view was to die for, kids were able to wonder onto the beach and we could see them from our caravan. There is a public car park for the beach right above our pitch and we wandered if it would be safe to leave our belongings outside, but we didn\'t have any trouble at all. It felt very safe.
The staff are lovely and very helpful, the restaurant is nice, it seemed quite expensive so we only had a few basic things here.
It was the most expensive site that we stayed on, but it was an amazing spot. No swimming pool, showers were clean but water was not too warm, OK on hot days.
You can walk or cycle to the village easily on a path all the way or continue up around a hill on the road to another amazing beach. Also passing a bakery for breakfast, selling hot squid pie!
Very few English this side of Spain so worth learning some Spanish.
Would definitely return to this site.
This evaluation has been obtained by our inspector from a questionnaire at the camp site.
Beautiful spot with an amazing view of the sea we saw Dolphins every day quite close to the shore an absolute treat. Overall the site is okay if somewhat dated facilities but they are kept clean and tidy. The main issue is the black dust that settles everywhere and marks the awning, your feet and shoes, car, van etc. The staff re very pleasant and helpful there is a good wifi room with a reasonable signal.
The town of Muros is nice with loads of good restaurants and Santiago is only an hour\'s drive away.
