This is a good site for visiting Santiago which is a very attractive city. There are buses into the city from near the site and it is also possible to walk there in about 30 minutes. The site itself is not particularly attractive, and vans are packed closely together with little privacy. The facilities are satisfactory.
Convenient campsite for visiting Santiago de Compostela. The pitch fees reflect the location and lack of competition in the area. The site is in the city suburbs, on a hillside, with pitches arranged in terraces. Access to the site can be a problem if using satnav, as routing may take you via steep and narrow local streets. Advise looking at a map beforehand.
Come at it from the right end, or you are faced with quite a hill. The site is steep, pitches are terraced and most are small and a bit cramped. Don't expect too much and you'll not be disappointed. It's quite expensive for what it is, and you only get 5 amp electricity. Where we were, we could pick up the free WiFi no problem. On leaving our GPS wanted us to turn left out the exit, to get us back onto the main road. Don't. Further along is a no entry sign. The city is, however a real picture and worth the effort.
Stayed for 2 nights at end of Sept in 6.2 metre motorhome. Access was ok and pitches of various depth (due to trees) availabe. There were some BIG vans on site. All pitches of good width. Clean toilet facilities and hot water adequate. Pool a nice bonus, not heated. Only had tapas in the bar which were fine. The site is perfect for accessing city. 200 yard walk to bus stop. 3 minute walk from site is a 3 storey shopping mall with a great Carrefour for food and drink.
Excellent for visiting the city. 20/30 minute walk and regular bus back. Pitches only ok. Bar ok did not use restaurant. The prize is expensive but is very convenient. Site is around the back of the shopping mall so follow signs not sat nav.
Was perfect place to spend a night to visit Santiago de Compostela, surprisingly quiet and shady site in middle of town with excellent facilities, clean toilets and showers and a restaurant. Recommend it to anyone visiting Santiago, downhill walk into the town and a cheap bus ride back to the site. Perfect.
Bar staff not very welcoming. Very little eye contact. Provided nibbles to all locals with their drinks without question. We had to buy ours. Another table of non Spanish were not given a good reception either. After just coming from Portugal where the people were absolutely amazingly friendly and kind, this is an absolute culture shock!!
Excellently situated for visiting Santiago de Compostella which is a reasonably comfortable walk away. The bus to the centre is 200m away. We only stayed the night but found the facilities good with shower/washing facilities modern, clean and the water hot. Electricity costs quite high but good wifi counters that!
Water in the taps and showers was lukewarm at best in the evenings, despite reassurance by staff that it was hot. Clearly the power was being switched off. We had to ask for lights to be enabled in the toilets at night. Power to sites was also switched off during the day. The site is very convenient for the city centre but over priced for what you get.
A good site (and the only one that takes dogs) to visit Santiago. The entrance is steep and pitches can be cramped. It is expensive compared to other sites but it does have monopoly of visiting this very interesting city. Sanitary facilities are good and clean. Recommended for short stays.
