The location makes this site. It was so easy to visit the amazing city, by walking or an easy bus ride. A map was supplied to show the route and bus number. I didn’t see the swimming pool or cafe so I’m unable to comment on them. The grounds are rather rundown with a broken concrete roads, plenty of shade from trees and pitches close together. The night we stayed it was noisy with bangs from fireworks and loud music from a nearby event, just unlucky I guess.
This is a good site for visiting Santiago, but not recommended for a long stay. As others have said, pitches are cramped and unkempt. It’s also on a steep hill so you’ll get used to the smell of clutch smoke......pitches are difficult to get on to without a motor mover on your caravan. For motorhomes they’re OK, though, again expect your clutch to be tested....(SEE TIPS BELOW). It’s also expensive, especially for the facilities. Toilets need modernising but are clean.
Good bar though and staff are helpful and English speaking. Getting to the centre of Santiago is really easy on the Number 4 bus, 5 minutes walk from the site, every 30 mins for €1 ! And they run all day up to 22:30, even Sundays.
TIP : When you arrive, park OUTSIDE the entrance (there’s space on the road) and go in, book in and find your space first, then go into the site; you’ll Get a better run up the hill and easier access to your pitch. Always try the lower pitches first, the upper levels are tricky to get to (that’s British understatement for you....!)
Excellent location for catching the No4 bus into Santiago. Access quite steep but the pitches are fairly flat if crammed in. No space to put your table and chairs if you\'re there when it\'s busy. So close it would be like being in a car park. Quite expensive but it\'s the only one in town. Ideal for a couple of nights.
Good situation within easy walk of the centre. The receptionist/manager dismissed the ACSI card and identity card and insisted on passports. On checkout he put through payment in sterling without giving me the choice. It was later that I found this out. Learning curve here!!
Great site lovely restaurant very good food friendly stall on reception and restaurant bus into city and large supermarket with walking distance.
We had a lovely time here with our friends .
The people in Northern Spain are so friendly
Great site. Feels like in the woods, not city. Bus station to town close. Helpful staff. The High Score for the Super Restaurant. What a hidden treasure. Sanitary very clean and hot water wherever needed. Carefour nearby.
The pitches are a bit uneven and small. No sanitary for kids but all in all recommendable.
Expensive site, very small pitches, cramped and we were charged a mid- season rate (campervan and 2 adults) when only one toilet block was open and the swimming pool was closed. Also they refused to charge our credit card with euros and demanded we paid British pounds on our credit card - which costs us more but they claimed they get a better rate!!
:( very disappointing and the most expensive site we stayed in the whole of Spain and Portugal. Shame there are not alternatives in the area.
This is a city site, the closest to the city of Santiago de Compostela, hence it was very tightly compacted with gravel pitches poor facilities and very expensive for what it is.
Ignore the sat nav directions in the last half mile because it takes you up a ridiculously narrow and steep road when further along there is a much better access.
The pitches have no delineation and are very tight, so think twice if you have a large van. There is a lot of tree shade.
Swimming pool is nice. There is no shop. There is a nice restaurant - but it is expensive.
Toilets and showers are not good - dated and overcrowded even in off-peak times.
It is close enough to walk into the city centre.
Overall, a god place just to visit the city as it is so convenient but not worthwhile to linger.
No problems finding it, followed the signs once we were off the motorway. Great site for visiting the city, we walked down, took 40 minutes, and got the bus back. Helpful at reception, gave us a map and instructions for the bus. Site was busy in October, but plenty of room. Such an interesting city to visit, I'd have been better planned for my sightseeing if I'd realised how important the cathedral was. Well worth spending at least a day here. Pool looks lovely, but haven't tried it yet.
The central road to pitches is very steep, pitches are relatively flat. Some shaded other not. WiFi limited to bar area. No washing machine. Toilets are clean and water is warm not hot. Staff friendly and helpful.
