Travelling party: Couple

We arrived in late October and stayed a week. It was so quiet for a massive site, in fact sometimes you could imagine being completely on your own. I do not know why a previous comment said there was no room for an 8 metre motorhome...we pitched an 8.2 metre caravan AND Discovery 4 with no problems. There was also a 10 metre American motorhome ( I measured it) pitched nearby. Its ideally situated for visiting Segovia and San Lorenzo El Escorial (by bus from the top of the access road) which we visited twice in the week. Also worth a visit is the Valley of The Fallen, an immense Basilica built inside and under a mountain. It defies words after visiting the burial tombs of the Spanish Royal families over many years in San Lorenzo. Toilet blocks spotless and the staff could not be more helpful or cheery. Some of the pitches had sunshades which were very welcome in 28degree heat. Will definitely return if in the area again.

NOT suitable for a large (8 metre ) motor home . Had to park on the road for the night. Lucky we were only using the campsite for a stop over. Shower blocks were lovely, and clean.

The entrance to this site is down a lane off of a very fast and busy road (M600) and if approaching from the AP6(Guadarrama) I would suggest going on to the next roundabout and coming back. The site was very quiet when we were there and facilities very limited - no restaurant, supermarket only open mornings. The bus stop to Madrid is located on the main road about a Km walk up the lane. The facilities were clean, well maintained and the water hot. The bus into the local towns was 1.30€ and 4.20€ to the centre of Madrid one way.

Arrived at around 5.30pm only to find that Restaurant only open at weekends and cafeteria kitchen closed for night. Asked for wine in bar only to be told no wine until tomorrow. This was end of June not beginning of season. Up early in morning. Showers stone cold tried them all as were told they had hot and cold showers but all the same.

Camping located in an excellent area - closed to El Escorial, but also ideal for trek and nature lovers.
Good menu at the restaurant.
Clean and heated in winter toilets.
Shaded pitches.

We stayed here to mainly visit Madrid. The site was very accommodating but too large for our liking. There were coach loads of kids but mostly quiet in the camping area. We booked a last minute hotel in Madrid for the weekend which was little more than the site fees for pitching our motorhome and was worth every penny. Safe motorhome and a fantastic time in Madrid - a must if you have not visited. The sanitaires on site, like most of Spain, unlike France, were clean & well equipped with loo paper. The bus stop to Madrid is on the main road a mile up the track from the site entrance so leave yourself time to catch the bus. You will see the stop on entering the track road to the site. The usual crowds of Spanish holiday makers were enjoying the sites facilities whilst we laundered and moved on after our great Madrid outing.

Well kept in low season and bad weather. Very conveniently located. Transportation provided to and from the public bus would be a great plus. It is a considerable walk and difficult under rain, cold or excessive heat. The grocery store is well equipped. Carries fresh fruits, vegetables and bread. Opens weekends in low season. Weekends in the summer are quite crowded, but there is always available space.

Big, very big so not really the sort of site we like. Six check in desks! They insisted on seeing the ACSI card so I had to produce it then and there in the pouring rain. I couldn’t bring it in later in the day. We found the sanitary facilities very good. Plenty of hot water. It was like sleeping in a dormitory, one mass of open pitches as far as the eye can see. The plus side is that its is ideal for Valle de los Caidos, El Escorial Palace, Segovia and Avila (both 45 mins)

Travelling party: Family with children, 4 – 12 years
