The attractive feature of this camping site is its proximity to the heart of Madrid in less than one hour by bus. The bus stops in front of the camping site and departs every hour. Nothing wrong with that! Another advantage of this camping site is the large swimming pool. As the camping site is located at an altitude of approx. 700 m, it is cool and has an open feel.
Well maintained pitches
Camping Madrid Arco Iris is a terraced camping site with a large number of deciduous trees on a slightly sloping grounds. The roads on the camping site are paved. The pitches are well maintained, have little or no demarcations and are located on grass, tamped down clay or fine gravel. Some pitches have private sanitary facilities. The pitches have recently been extended and now measure 70 to 200 m2. You can rent modest to luxury or highly luxury (with jacuzzi) bungalows.
Lovely pool and clean sanitary facilities
The swimming pool (opened from 1 June to 15 September) is large enough (450 m2) to swim a few lengths. Around it you find a sunbathing lawn, the terrace and some playground equipment. You can enjoy the sun over there but also look for a shaded spot. The sanitary facilities are clean and function well, although they are somewhat dated. On the other hand you can rent private sanitary facilities on some of the pitches.
Restaurant, terrace, bar...
There is a spacious, convivial bar (with terrace) where you can also have breakfast. The restaurant has lovingly set tables and stylish furniture. You can choose from the extensive menu or take the set daily menu. The numerous paintings made by the wife of the camping site owner lend a nice touch to the restaurant.

Great value campsite for visiting Madrid. Lots of bungalows and permanent residents but very quiet in November so plenty of choice. We took a pitch at the back of the site with private bathroom and own washing up sink!
Madrid is 45 minutes and 2 buses away, not bad at all.
Camping excelente. Muy amables al cedernos una plaza de camping con modulo de lavabo,
Wc, ducha y fregadero incluidos. Entorno en calma a pesar de estar muy cerca de Madrid. Trato excelente a los clientes de ACSI CARD. Muy recomendable
This is an excellent site for those wishing to visit Madrid or Toledo, the former is easily visited by bus which stops outside the campsite. The site is on a minor motorway but no traffic noise can be heard on the site. Toilet and shower facilities are first class. The only downside is that the shop was shut in early June as was the pool, but as the main reason for visiting the sites is to visit Madrid and Toledo then the site deserves the high marks we have given it. Staff are friendly and very informative. If the site had a decent view I would stay for some time, sadly it does not and we used it and moved on.
This site is ideal for visiting Madrid. To update what the ACSI guide says we found that driving to COLONIA JARDIN station on the metro was the easiest way into Madrid. We had 7 days in the city. The station is about 10 mins drive and the Metro journey about 15 mins. Lookout for the “10 journey” Metro tickets at less than one euro per journey in the city centre. The site was VERY helpful with all aspects of our stay and apart from a couple of days with tepid water in the showers (soon fixed) the facilities were good. We didn’t use the bar/restaurant because, unlike the site office the welcome was poor.
This is a small site for motorhomes or large caravans. Sites can be difficult to get onto and indeed off when leaving. Each parcel does have a sun pergola on them which whilst a good idea does restrict the pitch size. Just about got my awning half out in the rain. Shower water luke warm. No hot water at washing areas for pots etc. For me only consider again as a 1 nighter.
Very good campsite & excellent value using the ACSI camping card. Toilet facilities clean with plenty of hot water. The staff in reception all spoke very good English & were very helpful. Nicely located for visiting the Valley of the fallen (vaille de caidos) al El Escorial & the Roman aquaduct at Segovia (both a must). Unfortunately it was rather hot for the time of year & we decided against visiting Madrid & Toledo as we had 2 small dogs which were suffering from the heat. The only downside with the campsite was that the plots for caravans, tents & motor homes were right at the far end of the site & about 100 metres from the shower blocks etc. But work was in progress in building what looked like individual shower/toilet facilities in this area & will probably be up & running next year. We Would definately stay here again.
