Camping Urbasa is a tranquil camping site, set in a rugged nature park The camping site is situated between San Sebastian, Bilbao and Pamplona. Urbasa lies on a wooded plateau. This camping site is especially suitable for people looking for peace and quiet and for nature lovers. There are few facilities; you are simply surrounded by nature.
Verdant and vast
The camping site itself is completely fenced in. Driving through the electronic gate you reach the reception building, which is hidden under tall trees. The camping grounds are less wooded, but they are vast and verdant. The pitches are not demarcated. You may pick a suitable pitch for yourself.
Quiet and space
At camping site Urbasa you will mostly see hikers, who come here to enjoy nature and tranquillity. The area is ideal for walking. Guided walks are organised from the camping site. Tip: walk to the source of the Urderra river.
There are a number of cycling routes and you can hire mountain bikes from the camping site. Mountain biking in this area is pretty challenging. However, you will be rewarded for your efforts, because the routes taking you through the rugged nature are breathtakingly beautiful.
In search of adventure
Besides for hikers and mountain bikers, this is also the perfect camping site for equestrians, mountain climbers and speleologists. The camping site has horse stables and you can take some riding lessons. The signposted walking routes in the area are graded into various levels of difficulty, the most difficult ones are intended for mountain climbers. Ask the reception about the possibilities for canyoning, speleology and bungee jumping. In the limestone rocks you will find a number of caves and gorges, which are definitely worth a visit.
