This was our second visit to Rio Mar and we thought it had become quite tired looking in the 2 years since our previous visit. It is a ideal site for beach lovers and cycle enthusiasts. Nearby bus service to the lovely town of Denia terminates a short walk from the site. The on site shop is run by a lovely lady and is reasonably well stocked. Lidl supermarket is approximately 5Km away along quiet roads.
Miles of dog friendly soft sand beach attached to the site. An ideal place for travellers with dogs.
Old site but clean with very good dog
Nice quiet site right on the dog friendly beach. Toilets/showers a bit hit and miss, hottest water seems to be in the morning and just warm later on in the day, no toilet paper in cubicles. Some pitches quite small and majority of them are shaded. Good free wifi.
Fantastic experience stayed a month price reduces if you stay month, very friendly lovely location right on the beach little tiered in some areas but enjoyed it returning next year
This is a fantastic spot on the beach but the site is tired and run down, the pitches are cramped and have no views of the beautiful area. The access is very tight and the staff weren't helpful. There is a beach bar at the entrance with fantastic views of the beach but the site itself is a let down.
We use Camping Rio-Mar three or four times a year. Sometimes for a day or three and other times for a week or two. Always the welcome is fantastic, the little restaurant at the site is good enough for us to have dinner there each and every day, other than Monday when they take their well deserved day of rest, and the prices are really competitive.
We will continue using this little oasis, after caravaning and motorhoming since 1968 I'm just about settled with staying at Camping Rio-Mar. The beach is 'dog friendly' all year round and the big bonus is the site is right on the beach, well not right on the beach but you walk out of the site and onto the beach.
We go in January, April, May, September and sometimes October and each and every time we go it's so so very friendly, great people visit the site and the owners are like best friends. For me, I just can't beat it.
This was our third visit to Rio Mar. The first during the Christmas holidays and we had a wonderful time at Rio Mar. On Christmas Day we were given a wonderful lunch of paella, with a lot of extras. They even had flamenco dancers to entertain us. The staff are fabulous. We returned in April and stayed until June. Weather and conditions were great. During our third visit we had problems with one of our cycles and the owner arranged to take our cycle to be fixed. Thank you Rio Mar, especially Rosa
The toilet block is in need of some attention. Although cleaned at least twice a day there are tiles hanging off the walls of the showers. Water was hot enough and strong enough. Some pitches are really small but you get to choose and if sufficient space you can pick a larger pitch. Super market has limited produce - no fresh meat or veg. Sometime oranges were for sale. Supermarket seems to be run by a third party and the owner followed us around as if we were going to steal things - a little disconcerting. Bar/Restraunt ok, but better found over the bridge on the right (10 minute walk)
