Facilities

 If you are looking for a campsite and you have selected a certain country, you can continue your search using a place name, campsite name or facility. If you are searching on the basis of a facility, you will see 10 main categories and campsite types, such as winter sports, naturists, naturist section and disabled, from which you can choose.

When you have finally discovered the campsite of your choice, you will first be given general information and information regarding size, location, route and inspector. You can then click on ‘facilities’.

Some details / facilities need some explanation:

Address
Some campsites are situated in very small villages or in remote locations in valleys, so you may find that some campsite details do not include an address. However, a campsite always has a postcode and a place name, so if you wish to write to the relevant campsite, for instance, you can always use this data.

Classification
ACSI does not give campsites stars or any other classifications. Any such indication has been awarded to the campsite by the local authorities. Stars do not always say anything about quality, but they often say something about the comfort that the campsite offers. More stars mean more facilities… and a higher price.

Disabled people
A campsite for disabled people satisfies the requirements set down in consultation with Dutch Council for Disabled Persons. In any case, such campsites have an adapted toilet and shower or a combination of both. In addition, ACSI indicates whether each campsite has additional useful facilities for disabled persons.

Winter sports camp sites
ACSI offers a large number of camp sites that are now open in winter and in early spring. The camp sites that offer winter sports facilities are indicated in the guides by an icon showing a skier.

Opening period
Unfortunately, campsites occasionally deviate from the opening period indicated by them in 2000 (especially in the early and late parts of the season), please take this into account. It is also possible that not all facilities are available at certain times of the season. It is therefore advisable to telephone in advance.

Inspectors
When you have found a camp site that interests you, you will see the name and telephone number of one of our inspectors who has visited that particular site. You can phone that inspector for additional information. Click on the ‘Inspection team’ button on the homepage if you want to know more about ACSI’s inspectors

Indicative price
This is the price during the high season. It is the rate for the most common pitches on the campsite and includes:

  • pitch per night for a caravan and 1 car, including 2 adults;
  • electricity per night (lowest amperage);
  • environment tax;
  • tourist tax (2 adults).

Attention!! This is the price as calculated during the high season when the inspector last visited the campsite, i.e. in 2000. Therefore, the prices that we indicate (the ACSI indicative price) do not offer certainty when you are trying to work out what your holiday will cost, but it is, of course, an indication.
