Campsite Kirchzarten is next to the village of Kirchzarten, to the south of the Black Forest. Although you camp close to the village, you feel like you are in the middle of the mountainous Dreisamtal countryside. The campsite is situated near the lovely city of Freiburg and the Europa-Park theme park and resort (Germany’s largest theme park) is close by.

You can reach the campsite easily via the A5. You can make your camping holiday as comfortable as you wish. There are lovely pitches on the grass for your own tent or caravan, but there are also various holiday homes and mobile homes for rent.

Free swimming and public transport

Next to the campsite there is a wonderful swimming pool complex. Admission to this pool is included in the overnight rate in the high season. Also included in the price is a KNOUS card for public transport. The train station is a ten-minute walk from the campsite and in 15 minutes you can be standing in the historical centre of Freiburg. If you want to plan a day trip for the next day, then you can use the free Wi-Fi connection at the campsite.

Day trips for young and old

There is plenty for children to do at the campsite. They can design their own t-shirt in the T-Shirt Factory and there are special ‘Dinners for Kids’ where children can sit down at a table together with their camping buddies. If you prefer cycling or walking then the Black Forest is a perfect location for a hiking or cycling tour.

Travelling party: Family with children, various ages

Perfect campsite with our 2 young children, lots of activities nearby with a food on site. Probably the best toilet and shower facilities I have used at a campsite.

Camping Kirchzarten is absolutely faultless. It is spotlessly clean and you feel obliged to pick up an ice cream stick, the facilities are so tidy. The attached municipal pool is beautiful and the restaurant and staff are second to none. Furthermore the great city of Freiburg is only a free Konus card train away. Towards the end of our second week we had a major storm where large branches were snapping off the trees, completely ruining tents and awnings but the staff were out straight away to help and clear up.Our third visit but without the best site we've ever been on.
