In the south-east of Bavaria, not far from the Austrian border, lies the clear blue Chiemsee, the largest lake in Bavaria. A wonderful destination for water sports enthusiasts, mountain hikers and cycling enthusiasts. At the modern Chiemsee Strandcamping you camp right on the water. The bonus: beautiful sunsets over the lake! Strandcamping is located on a narrow strip directly between the road and the lake, two kilometres from the town of Chieming.

Camping on the lake
The first thing you notice is the fantastic location of this campsite. The camping pitches are located directly on the water and you have a beautiful view of the lake and the mountain landscape of Bavaria. The modern, new and clean sanitary building deserves a special mention. It might just look nicer than your own bathroom.
For active holidaymakers
The campsite is quite small in size with some 90 pitches for touring campers snugly arranged in about three rows by the water. The pitches can be a bit on the small side for large caravans and motorhomes. In the summer months, this beautiful spot can also fill up quickly and it is sometimes a bit busy. But the general feeling of the place is very friendly. Due to its location in Bavaria, close to the motorway, this campsite is also used as a transit campsite for a holiday in Austria.
Swimming and boating
In summer, the Chiemsee is a popular swimming location. From the campsite you can walk directly into the water from the gravel beach for a refreshing dip. Swimming shoes are a handy tip for the little ones.
