Do you want to enjoy the sand, sea and quiet? And all of this in the shelter of a nature area? If so, go to camping Drepanos, a few km from the harbour town of Igoumenitsa, in the north-west of Greece. The campsite is situated virtually at the end of a crescent-shaped peninsula. A remarkable feature is the position of the campsite: directly along a long, slightly sloping sandy beach. So, from your tent you can walk straight onto the beach.

Shade of the eucalyptus
The surface is hard and the pitches are not demarcated. The pitches which are directly situated along the beach are more or less demarcated; these offer a wide view over the sea. From the beach you can see the ferries from and to Igoumenitsa. There are tall eucalyptus trees on the campsite.
Your fellow guests
Your camping neighbours form an international and colourful group of people who are not very demanding as far as luxury or perfect maintenance is concerned. During the weekend you will also see many Greeks from the city to spend a few peaceful days.
Azure sea
A swimming pool is superfluous here. From your pitch you just walk onto the beach and straight into the sea. On the (child-friendly) beach you can chill on the blue sun loungers under a white sun umbrella; an attractive colour palette with the azure sea in the background. There is also a lovely beach bar.
Fine local dishes
The much frequented restaurant (comprehensive menu) is also popular with guests from outside the campsite. From the restaurant terrace you have a view of the campsite (one side) and the sea (the other side). For many guests, good food and a relaxed atmosphere compensate the otherwise basic amenities.
