The camp site is located about 9 km northwest of Umag close to the village of Savudrija. Easy to find thanks to good signposting. It is just 800m from the village of Basanija to the camp site.

Mooie camping met mooi en schoon sanitair. Personeel was vriendelijk. Ondanks het feit dat wij een heel mooie campeerplaats hadden stonden wij wel midden tussen vaste kampeerplaats-houders uit voornamelijk Slovenie. Deze hadden hun kampeerplaats zodanig ingericht dat zij hun veelal zeer oude caravan (ouder dan 40 jaar en zonder wielen) hadden ingegraven met de achterzijde naar het pad gericht. Hierdoor had je echt de indruk 'er niet bij te horen'. Verder direct buiten de camping een 'openlucht' barretje.

De uitbater, die niet bij de camping hoorde, nam het niet zo nauw met het geluidsvolume. Tot zeker 01.00 uur was de muziek erg overheersend en als de muziek dan uiteindelijk stopte, wilden 'zijn gasten' om 02.00 uur a 02.30 uur nog even hun auto's/motoren testen. Kampeerders met kleine kinderen dienen bij reservering hier zeker rekening mee te houden. Het overigens kleine zwembad ligt aan de buitenzijde van de camping. In het restaurant hebben wij lekker gegeten.

Zoals de meeste campings in Kroatië is dit een zeer grote camping met bijna 500 plaatsen. Wij stonden in het gedeelte met de plaatsnummers 1-93. Het sanitair in dit gedeelte is erg slecht en bevindt zich in een soort permanent noodgebouw. De douches zijn zo klein dat je maar beter zo min mogelijk kunt meenemen. Zelden warm water voor douchen en afwas. Het sanitair werd wel goed schoon gehouden maar al snel gingen we zo veel mogelijk naar het andere sanitairblok in het middengedeelte van de camping op 500 meter van onze kampeerplaats.
Veel geluidshinder 's avonds van feestgangers op de weg en het groenpersoneel dat 's ochtends om 7 uur met de tractor langskomt. De plaatsen direct aan zee zijn mooi. Maar de overige plaatsen in het gedeelte 1-93 stellen niets voor en hebben meestal weinig schaduw. Deze camping is de prijs niet waard. Over de sportfaciliteiten en het zwembad kunnen we eigenlijk niet oordelen. die lagen aan de andere kant van de camping op meer dan anderhalve kilometer

Wij zijn vorig jaar voor het eerst hier geweest met onze 16 jarige zoon. Heerlijke camping, de zee en strand als gróte trekpleister voor de jeugd (en ons!) prima sanitair en redelijk eten.
Ook de omgeving is prima en de camping is goed bereikbaar, ook met onze grote(> 7.60) caravan.
Zwoele avonden met uitzicht op zee, wat wil je nog meer!......terug natuurlijk; dus dat doen we dit jaar weer!!!!

Zum zweiten Mal wurde Pineta im Juli angesteuert. Die Sanitäranlagen waren in 2007 noch optimal instandgehalten, dieses Jahr waren kleinere Zerstörungen (Türen klemmten, Spiegel angeflemmt) noch zur Hauptsaison nicht behoben. Umgebung und der Platz einfach wunderschön. Sehr freundliches Personal. Keine Menschenmassen; manchmal etwas laut vom naheliegenden Hotel mit Terrasse. Restaurants in der Nähe preiswert und prima. Sportangebote oft genutzt (meistens Tennis und Tauchen). Leider wurde ein sehr gutes Dirt Bike geklaut, trotz Anbringung eines Schlosses, also gutes Schloss mitnehmen oder irgendwo einschließen. M.E. ist der Platz sehr zu empfehlen.

Valkanela ist für mich der schönste Platz Istriens. Wir fahren schon seit 10 Jahren hier hin! Man wird echt in Ruhe gelassen, wenig Verbote, die Kinder können auch mal etwas krach machen! Das essens Angebot hat seit der neuen Leitung leider stark nachgelassen. Die Sanitäranlagen für Kinder sind auch klasse! Fazit: Für uns ist Valkanela der schönste Platz Istriens!
