Soleil Levant is een niet al te grote camping, met redelijke grote plaatsen. Het meerendeel van de gasten zijn Fransen. Heel gastvrij en gemoedelijk. Bij het zwembad is een badjuffrouw of meester, tussen de middag gaat het even dicht (etenstijd). Glijbanen zijn geweldig. Maar je kan ook goed in de omgeving naar het strand, is zelfs lopend te doen. Wil je echt naar een groot en toeristisch strand moet je een paar kilometer verderop rijden. 's Nachts is er security op de camping. Het plaatsje Meschers is een klein gezellig dorpje. Hier is 7 dagen in de week een kleine markt van 08.00 tot 13.00 uur. Bij de haven zijn een paar goeie restaurants, voor 16 euro een 3 gangen menu bv. Verder is de dierentuin in La Palmyre een aanrader. Wil je het Aqurium bezoeken raden wij aan om je lunch mee te nemen. Als je naar het restaurant gaat kan je niet meer terug het Aquarium in (minpunt). Leuke vakantie geahd en de camping is een aanrader.

Wir haben im Juli 2011 den Wohnmobil-stellplatz des Campingplatzes besucht mit folgender Wertung:
Sehr schön und ruhig gelegener Platz in der Nähe der Gironde. Infrastruktur mit Imbiss, Restaurant, Schwimmbad/Rutsche, Sport- und Spielplatz, Sanitäranlagen, Fahrradverleih, gut bis sehr gut. Freundl. Personal. Besichtigung/Ausflugsmöglichkeiten wie z.B. die Höhlenwohnungen am Steilufer der Gironde in Meschers, das romantische Städtchen Talmont-St-Hilaire (5 km entfernt) oder die mondäne Hafenstadt Royan u.s.w.
Stellplatzpreise für Wohnmobile auf seperatem Platzteil: 10 Euro pro Tag/Fahrzeug, inkl. Strom, Ver- und Entsorgung sowie Nutzung aller Einrichtungen des Campingplatzes, allerdings für diesen Preis strikt begrenzt auf 2 Übernachtungen. Bei längerem Aufenthalt andere Campingplatzpreise, dafür freie Auswahl auf Stellplätzen innerhalb des Campings.

Rustig aan de rand van een stadje gelegen camping met royale plaatsen en niet duur. Wij zijn een gezin met 2 jongens van 12 en 14. Eigenaar/Personeel allemaal heel behulpzaam en dit niet op basis van routine. Wij stonden vlak voordat de franse vakantie begon en zodoende was de camping voor zo'n 50% bezet. Genoeg ruimte over voor de kinderen om te voetballen etc. En er was ook Wifi overal op de camping.
Messcher is een aardig stadje met veel voorzieningen en een haven aan de Gironde-uitloop met elke dag markt op loopafstand van de camping. Rond de haven wordt 2 a 3 maal p/w wat volksvermaak georganiseerd. Je kunt prima fietsen in de omgeving. Om te zwemmen gingen wij telkens ca. 15 km richting Palijs sur mer omdat je hier strand aan de Atlantische oceaan hebt met hoge golven. Hier heb je ook veel campings vlak bij elkaar met enorm veel drukte gezelligheid.
Uitstapjes die je zou kunnen doen zijn het eiland Oleron, la Rochelle, Royan, klimpark in Palmyre
