Lekker ouderwetse camping met ruime plekken die je nog zelf mag uitzoeken en naar eigen inzicht mag inrichten. Geen entertainment waar je gek van kunt worden maar een vriendelijke kampbaas met een paar hulpen die de boel schoonhouden en waar je koud bier en warme broodjes kunt bestellen. De omgeving is een paradijs voor wandelaars, fietsers, kanovaarders en cultuurliefhebbers. De oude DDR geest hangt er nog een beetje en ook dat is mooi.

Bij aankomst op de camping verbaasde het mij dat er zo weinig mensen stonden. Mooie ruime velden en genoeg mooie plekjes te kiezen. Het sanitair was eenvoudig maar goed schoon. Gelukkig geen douchemuntjes en er was w.c. papier volop. Zelfs afwasmiddel bij de aanrecht en een fornuis om te gebruiken. Wat een service! Elke ochtend kon je de bestelde verse broodjes bij de campingbaas op halen en ze worden soms zelfs bij de tent gebracht. Er loopt een spoorlijn langs de camping maar die hoor je na een dag niet meer evenals het gebrom in de verte van een fabriek. Er zitten erg veel vogels op de camping door de vele hoge bomen die er staan; dus ook altijd zon of schaduw. De camping is een goede start voor de velle wandel-en fietstochten die je kunt maken in de prachtige afwisselende natuur. De stad Jena is bruisend en zeer verrassend qua bouwstijlen en kleuren. Kortom: het was genieten Bei Jena.
