Camping direct aan het meer. De plaatsen direct aan het meer variëren sterk in grootte en zijn doorgaans al een jaar (of langer) vooraf besproken in de maanden juli en augustus. Ook in juni moet u geluk hebben. Deze plaatsen zijn echter wel schitterend gelegen (en hebben ook - terecht - een hoger tarief). Sanitair is sinds een vorig bezoek (in 2004) vernieuwd en prima op orde. Dorpje is niet veel bijzonders, maar iets verderop ligt Verbania, dat meer te bieden heeft. Oa de mogelijkheid om met de ferry de Borromeo eilanden te bezoeken (30 euro pp).

We hebben in augustus 2009 een "bungalow" gehuurd op deze camping. Bij aankomst leek deze "bungalow" echter meer op een klein vochtig aftans varkenshok. De inrichting is op rommelmarkten (20 jaar geleden) bij elkaar verzamelt. Het zeer kleine tuintje was niet onderhouden. Het strand betaat uit kiezelstenen en is ook niet netjes onderhouden. Tot overmaat van ramp kwamen we er de eerste dag achter dat op het naastgelegen gemeente strandje elk weekend (donderdag t/m. zondag) tot 4.30 in de ochtend houseparty's gehouden worden. Het leek alsof we in een discotheek sliepen. De eigenaar is niet voor rede vatbaar, het enige dat hij doet is dreigen en zijn deur dichthouden. Niet naar toe gaan dus!

Camping is mooi groen en heeft een schittende strand met uitzicht op Zwitserland. Wij stonden hier voor het eerst op aanraden van een kennis die hier vroeger altijd kwam. Ze hebben ons een plaats gegeven aan de rivier (Voor een plaats aan het meer of rivier betaal je een toeslag). Een prima plaats met op de achtergrond het kabbelde water van de rivier, alleen van donderdag tot en zondag was er aan de overkant van de rivier door de gemeente een oplucht discotheek "Lido"ingericht, met als gevolg dat we elke weekend (voor ons drie weekenden achter elkaar) tot ongeveer 2 uur in de nacht erg veel geluidsoverlast hebt van de muziek.Het schijnt het derde jaar te zijn dat met last heeft van deze overlast. Ik heb hierover helaas niets gelezen in de recenties over de camping, vandaar mijn recentie. Cannobio zelf is een leuk plaatsje met een aantal winkeltjes en een heerlijke ijssalon. Mooie boulevard en in de omgeving een midgetgolf baan en een aantal luchtkussens en een treintje

Sanitair is zeker niet geweldig, wel schoon maar flink verouderd. Maar de ligging van de camping aan het meer en tussen de prachtige bomen en bloeiende struiken is geweldig. De plaatsen zijn niet al te groot maar wel met mooi gras begroeid.Cannobio is een erg gezellig italiaans dorpje, supermarkt is aan te lopen en met duits kom je erg ver in de communicatie.

Camping ligt met nog 2 campings aan het begin van het dorp voor de rivier. Camping ligt aan het meer (kiezelstrand en s'avond muggen) en rivier en veel campinggasten hebben daar ook hun (speed)boot aan de boei liggen. Camping is eenvoudig van opzet, twee leuke restaurantjes op de camping waar je ook goedkoop kunt eten of iets kunt meenemen (pizza rond de 6 euro). Genoeg schaduw door diversen bomen op de camping alleen veel last gehad van boomluizen (plak op tent). Sanitair bij de ingang is nieuw en ziet er goed uit. De overige zijn ouder en roken niet altijd even fris. Klein winkeltje voor de nodige boodschappen aanwezig. (div supermarkten op loopafstand). Geen vertier voor de jeugd (zowel jong als de wat oudere). (ouderen jeugd gaan s’avonds naar het dorp). S’avond bewaking bij de ingang. Kleine tot zeer kleine plaatsen. Eigenaar zeer onpersoonlijk en onberekenbaar in doen en laten. Alleen cash betalen.
