In Loix, the smallest village on the Ile de Ré, island on the west coast of France, you'll find Flower Camping Les Ilates. This lively campsite is located between salt marshes and oyster beds, close to the Atlantic Ocean. Here, campers can take a dip in the large heated swimming pool with paddling pool, where water polo matches are held in high season. The summer months are full of fun anyway, as the entertainment programme is extensive.

Liked - Pool and slides, location
Disliked - Pitch was small and muddy and on the side of a busy section of road. Lots of flies on the site too, which made meal times less enjoyable.

Travelling party: Family with children, 4 – 12 years
Liked - Pool and location
Disliked - poo in the pool and the staff members inability to attend to it after 3 requests to have it moved, the late night entrance barrier opening even after complaints to the main office, 12- midnight, 2am 3am 4am "After 11pm the gate will only be opened in emergencies!" People talking and shouting on site...it's a site for families not rowdy teenagers and after 3 nights of lack of sleep it becomes a little annoying!

Liked - I love this small campsite with it's fantastic location on quiet part of the island. It's our third time starting there.
Disliked - Maybe a booking system for the tennis court would be useful.

Liked - The campsite is wonderful, so we'll maintained. The accommodation and pool area are faultlessly clean. This is a big plus.
Disliked - I felt the on site shop should have been open. It was closed the entire stay. Didn't begin until 15th of June. I also feel the reception should make you aware of restaurant closure days upon check in as we were badly caught out on this. The bouncy castle is not well maintained in times of wet weather. It wasn't used the entire week as the rain water accumulated and it was never cleaned out. I also feel there were enough people about in June to organise even one child club event in the day.

Liked - Loved the new toboggans. The location is perfect with easy access to the cycle routes. Campsite feels very safe for children.
Disliked - Slight issue with noise at night, the 11pm curfew isn't always adhered to by other campers. The restaurant smelled of chip fat and wasn't very inviting.

Travelling party: Family with children, 4 – 12 years
Liked - We enjoyed Les Ilates campsite very much and the pool/slides were a big hit with our kids (9/7/4). It was close to the village and dedicate cycle tracks right up to the campsite were great
Disliked - The activities / noise in the evening went on quite late (11:30 +) and as we stayed in cabane lodge this noise was not conducive to sleep
