Camping Neckargemünd

Pretty site overlooking the river. Facilities are up steep steps the ladies showers are dated you leave your clothes and towel outside the cubicle meaning there is nowhere to get dried. There are 2 showers with an area for dressing but they are not clean and covered in black mould. The bus stop to the centre is just outside the site with the Train station a little further. There is a cycle route from the site to the centre which is safe.

Had never visited Heidelberg before and chose this site so that we could visit Heidelberg by train. Large flat site on the riverbank. Restaurant was very good. Very well organised site- a bit regimented! Told exactly where to pitch. We couldn’t have a riverside pitch because ours is a British caravan and the door is on the opposite side. Not allowed to pitch because our door would have faced another pitch!!! Toilets immaculate but up a long flight of stairs so would present problems for less able. Not very much in Neckergemund! But can get bus or train to Heidelberg. Supermarkets are on outskirts of the town.
